St. Paul’s Hospital emergency department staff are conducting training using a mobile decontamination trailer designed for use in the event of chemical exposure. The trailer will be temporarily located in the ambulance bay throughout the tournament period. This activity is part of routine education and preparedness to ensure readiness.

This is routine planning for a large event and is not tied to a specific risk.

Every year, "What Matters to You Day?" invites health care teams around the world to pause and ask a simple question: “What matters to you?”

At Providence, this simple question is shaping care.

Our Value-Based Health Care team partners with clinicians to turn what patients value—like staying independent and confident—into real shared decision-making and measurable health outcomes.

This means starting with what matters, not just what’s the matter—helping patients feel heard, supported, and more in control.

This Nursing Week, we’re celebrating what matters most: giving nurses the time and support to provide the care they know is possible 💙

At Providence, minimum nurse-to-patient ratios (mNPR) are already making a difference – creating safer workloads, stronger teamwork, and more meaningful time with patients.

For St. Paul's Hospital nurses like Jessica and Laura, it’s not just about numbers. It’s about being able to truly connect, advocate, and deliver care the right way.
