Welcome to the Menders team, Bria Jupe, RCC.
Bria is now seeing clients in person at our Victoria office, and she brings a background that's hard to find.
Before counselling, she spent years teaching in public schools and teaching English online to children in China. In 2015 she founded Sunday Sandwiches YCC, a Calgary non-profit supporting people experiencing homelessness and housing scarcity. That work gave her a close-up view of trauma, substance use, and how hard it is to get through complex social systems. It still shapes how she works today.
In session, Bria is grounded, warm and person-centred. She holds a Somatic Healing Certification and uses body-based work alongside CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy and mindfulness. She also has specialized training in First Responder Health, which makes her a strong fit for paramedics, firefighters, police, dispatchers and anyone in trauma-exposed work.
Bria supports anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, grief, burnout, relationship challenges, substance-use recovery, and youth and young adults. Her care is LGBTQ+ affirming.
