This video is a great compilation of ice dance clips. When I was a teenager, it was popular for people to watch ice skating on TV. And I particularly enjoyed watching ice dancing. I even had a chance to go to ice skating events in Canada and Japan and see some famous dancers and performances. Put lately, I haven't seen ice skating on TV as much. It seems to have fallen out of fashion, at least on TV.

The Poke button returns! (Thanks Rachel R for the intel. 🙂) You might have to be an old timer in this space to remember it. How odd. It isn't even clear what it is. I went on my husband's page and looked around. It appears on this line, just below the profile photo. I'll bet a lot of people will unwittingly be poking someone as they try to "unfriend" them. 😆 Or am I just not up-to-date on this one? I am often the last to hear about stuff.

This is a weird "blast" from the past. Pokes on FB haven't been a thing since way back in the noughties. I can't even recall what the purpose was for them back then. Maybe a quick way to say "hi"? But even stranger is the fact that FB removed the poke function on the FB menu. I'm not even sure how one would send a poke these days. And I doubt this person has the wherewithal to know how to do it.

🌿 Some billboard wisdom for the day. It really is this simple. Well, the walking away isn't always simple? But the choice is black and white.

I took part in a volunteer run project that really made me feel like this. I put a lot of effort in and none of it was acknowledged. So despite the possibility that I could keep helping out -- and help is needed -- I'm choosing to stay away.

🌿 During this season of harvesting from kitchen gardens and allotments or shopping at the farmer's market, here's a simple reminder that roasting vegetables doesn't have to be complicated. Here they are using root vegetables, so they all have a similar kind of density and rate of cooking. If you are mixing in more fragile ingredients like green beans are asparagus, add them at different points, and it's easy to look up vegetable combinations for roasting online and you'll get recipes that will tell you how to space them out. If you don't do that, you'll end up with burnt vegetables mixed in.

Is it a type of bribe that pushes the boundaries of what is legal? With municipal elections coming up and bi elections running in the province, news from south of the border has me questioning if politicians could ask Canadians to vote for them and promise money in return. Of course promises can be made in terms of some kind of rebate, because of grocery prices or something like that , but just a basic generic promise of money doesn't sound like it would be legal in Canada. Without casting dispersions against any political party, do you know if this is the case?
