It's been too long since the last time I have had students at my studio. Since 2020, there has been too many obstacles and hardships preventing me to be able to share my garden, studio space, knowledge and passion for fragrance and plants via my perfume school. Even my online perfume courses via zoom have been on hold for over a year while I wait for the situation to improve on many fronts. And while we are still facing many issues in my part of the world, I am delighted to finally be able to teach again, online at least.

My perfume courses have undergone many transformations and adjustments, and this time again I am fine tuning the format in order to enrich your learning experience and also enable myself to expand my horizons as an artist and a teacher.

Courses will be offered in a format that combines independent learning via 9 printed course handbooks (no more PDFs), recorded lectures from previous courses, and a bonus bi-weekly live virtual masterclass on topics that are relevant across course themes and levels, for example:
- Viaual creative tools for perfume composition
- Edible Enfleurage - culinary applications of perfume extraction techniques
- Multi-layered tincturing
- How to overcome creative blocks?
- And much more!

The idea in those masterclasses is not just to gain new fresh and exciting knowledge, perspective and techniques, but also foe this to be a gathering of kindred spirits and a place for students to interact, pose questions about composition, and receive feedback from the instructor as well as peers.

It's been a long time dream of mine to plant wild Lilium candidum (Madonna Lily) in my garden. This beautiful flower is also a healing plant and full of meaning and symbolism for both Jewish and Christian faiths. It symbolizes purity and feminine wisdom. It looks delicate but it is also very resilient, growing on the rocky cliffs of canyons in the very northern parts of Israel, and on Mount Carmel. I finally got some bulbs that were rescued when the Carmel tunnels were dug in Haifa. A few years ago I made a perfume that tries to replicate it. It smells nothing like the cultivated lily.

The changing regulations on global import and export over the past few years have made it very difficult and much more expensive to ship Ayala Moriel's creations worldwide. Up until now we have absorbed most of the costs and were able to find solutions that are relatively fast and reliable via various postal services. In the past two months, following even more tight and strict export rules which have cause many service interruption, things have gone too far with how unreliable export is. So we had no choice but to switch to FedEx shipping for all sizes and costs, including sample orders. Which starts at around $30-$35 per package (depending on destination) for all orders up to 0.5kg. We are very sorry to have to increase the prices but this was a necessary step in order to provide a reliable service and this is the lowest price available during these strange and changing times.

Autumn shows its signs not just with falling leaves ๐Ÿ‚ but also white flowers that emerge from the parched earth (or sand). These are the messangers of shortened days, softer sun, and the first rains on the not-so-far-horizon.
At the beach, the Sea Daffodil (is such a flower. The flowers come out first, the leaves will appear later with the rains, which will water its charcoal-black seeds and provide it with an extra boost of life force to store for the next summer.
Beach Lilies are impressive, large white flowers that are especially fragrant from sunset onwards, attracting night pollinators. These scent is heady, slightly spicy white-floral with a green undertone that is simultaneously refreshing and melancholy.
The perfume Ayala Moriel created, inspired by these flowers does not include this rare and protected species, but is an hommage to their scent on a backdrop of cold, wet sand. Heady, floral, and a touch salty, with notes of ylang ylang, ginger lily and siamwood. It is all at once sensual, floral, clean and refreshing.
