Global number of drug users has risen to nearly 300 million according to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime's 2024 World Drug Report.

As drug use continues to rise, the demand for reliable and efficient drug testing solutions increases in tandem. The process for sample preparation is ๐’๐จ๐ฅ๐ข๐ ๐๐ก๐š๐ฌ๐ž ๐„๐ฑ๐ญ๐ซ๐š๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง (๐’๐๐„) as it enables the extraction, cleanup, and concentration of analytes before their identification and quantification.

Manual SPE workflows can be time consuming and prone to human errors. Aurora Biomedโ€™s ๐•๐„๐‘๐’๐€ 1100 ๐’๐๐„ enhances efficiency by providing faster processing and minimizing contamination. It enables workflow automation through these four key steps:
1. ๐–๐ž๐ญ/๐‚๐จ๐ง๐๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ข๐ง๐ : The sorbent is prepared to ensure consistent analyte retention and interaction.
2. ๐‹๐จ๐š๐๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ฌ๐š๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐ž๐ฌ: The analyte, along with some impurities, binds to the sorbent material.
3. ๐–๐š๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐ง๐ : A specialized solution removes weakly bound impurities while retaining the analyte.
4. ๐„๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ž: The analyte is released from the sorbent and collected for analysis.
