Day 2 at the United States Trout Farmers Association Conference in Twin Falls, Idaho!
Katie, Tim and Rodrigo Gonzalez Briones have enjoyed connecting with trout producers and learning from insightful discussions on trout production and industry trends.
We're especially grateful for the positive feedback on our feeds and encouraged by the growing adoption of Bio-Oregon products among trout farmers across the Northwest. Last night's live auction was another highlight, where we donated a pallet of Bio-Oregon crumble.
One session that particularly stood out focused on AI, exploring common misconceptions, how the technology really works, where it can add value, and what users should be cautious about as adoption continues to grow.

Giving back to the communities where we live and work. ❤️

With the rising cost of living impacting more families across Canada, food banks are providing critical support to those in need.

Recently, members of our Vancouver team volunteered at the Richmond Food Bank , helping sort and inspect food donations destined for local households.

It’s always special to see a community come together ❤️

Last week, students and staff from Bay d'Espoir Academy teamed up with Newfoundland Aquaculture Industry Association (NAIA), Cooke Inc. , Ocean Trout Canada Inc. , and our Skretting Canada team for a local clean-up around the school and park. Together, they collected five full bags of debris, helping keep it from reaching nearby beaches and oceans.

When we interviewed Chris McNiell, Hatchery Manager at Mowi Canada West, we didn’t just get to hear his story, we also got a full tour of the hatchery. Chris walked us through the entire operation, proudly showing the care and attention that goes into raising every fish the right way.

In this latest episode of our Meet the Farmer series, we explore Chris’s journey in aquaculture, his experience working on Vancouver Island, and what continues to motivate him after more than 25 years in the industry.

After spending time with him, one thing really stood out: aquaculture is full of people with long-standing, meaningful careers. Just like Chris, there are many who have spent years in this industry, people who believe in what they do and in the role aquaculture plays in producing sustainable seafood.
