Egg quality isn’t something you can change overnight, but there’s SO MUCH you can support the environment your eggs are developing in.

Egg maturation takes around 90 days, which is why the months leading up to trying to conceive (or an egg retrieval) are such a valuable window for supporting:

🥚 Mitochondrial health (your egg’s energy production)
🔥 Oxidative stress balance
🌱 Inflammation regulation
🧬 DNA and cellular health

We all know about CoQ10 (and she really is that girl), but there’s a bunch of other things you can take for egg quality support. Not to mention other things like exercise, getting enough sleep, a healthy diet, acupuncture, chinese herbs, and stress reduction!

Acupuncture and TCM is a natoriously difficult thing to study in a controlled environment. And to be honest, it’s not really supposed to be! Some things just can’t be translated perfectly into another language or style of thinking.

Yes, acupuncture can be proven and explained scientifically, but it is also an energetic medicine. And that can’t always be captured perfectly in a randomized controlled study.

One of the biggest challenges is that acupuncture is highly individualized. The points selected are based on the person in front of you: their symptoms, constitution, history, and overall pattern of imbalance. Creating one standardized “acupuncture protocol” for hundreds of people doesn’t always reflect how acupuncture is actually practiced.

Even the idea of “sham acupuncture” is complicated. A needle (even placed superficially or outside of a traditional acupuncture point) can still stimulate nerves and create a physiological response in the body. This makes it difficult to create a true placebo comparison.

And finally, dosage matters. One or two treatments can be deeply relaxing and beneficial, but like many therapies, acupuncture often works best with consistency and a treatment plan tailored over time.

Please keep this in mind when running into studies that dissuade the effectiveness of acupuncture❤️

Because it really is that serious...

Most people should be getting 25-30g of fiber per day, but many aren’t hitting that target.

Why does it matter?

🤍 Supports healthy estrogen metabolism and hormone balance.
🌿 Feeds the beneficial bacteria in your gut.
💩 Keeps bowel movements regular.
🩸 Helps stabilize blood sugar and supports cholesterol levels.
🎗️ Higher fiber intake is associated with a lower risk of colorectal cancer.../and with colorectal cancer becoming more common in younger adults, this is something worth paying attention to.

Food first is always the goal: fruits, vegetables, legumes, whole grains, nuts, and seeds. But if you’re consistently falling short, a quality fiber supplement can absolutely help bridge the gap.

🌱 30 plants in a week 🌱

One of my favourite ways to support gut health is by focusing on plant diversity. Different plants contain different types of fiber, polyphenols, and prebiotics that help nourish a diverse microbiome. And a more diverse microbiome means healthier hormones, more energy, better mood, and soooo much more.

Honestly, I had no idea if I was even close to the target but wanted to experiment to see if I was. Mixed nuts and berries help A TON! It also helps it being summer with tons of fresh produce available.

The goal isn’t perfection - it’s variety. A few herbs here, some berries there, a handful of nuts, a different grain… it all adds up to make a huge difference.

How many plants do you think you’re getting in a week? 🤔

07/15/2026

How many fingers did you put down?

Although at the end of the day I’m optimistic about the direction women’s health as a whole is going, there’s still TONS of work to do.

Common doesn’t always mean normal.

You deserve to be heard, taken seriously, and given answers. Not dismissed.

For every new patient, I reserve a full hour to go over your case in detail and listen to everything you need to talk about. Creating space for listening is just the start of the healing process.
