Third BMO Vancouver Marathon in the books.
This year felt different.
Building a family while scaling multiple companies is its own kind of endurance event. The work still needs to get done. The teams still need support. The responsibilities don’t pause. But one thing hasn’t changed since I was teenager: health comes first.
Proper fuel, consistent training, and the quiet belief that challenges can be managed one step at a time have always been my foundation. Last year was about peak fitness and performance metrics. This year wasn’t about PRs. It was about persistence, and resilience.
Around the 22 km mark, I lost focus for a split second, clipped an obstacle behind a cheering spectator, and hit the pavement hard. The first thought was simple:
Get up and finish!
By 27 km, severe cramps had set in. What carried me through wasn’t adrenaline. It was knowing my family was waiting at the finish line, along with the support of loved ones, the Crew who quietly make everything possible behind the scenes.
The experience was a reminder that wellbeing isn’t a weekend activity. It’s a daily commitment. It’s the discipline that keeps your mind clear, your Team steady, and your feet moving forward when the unexpected happens.
Grateful for my family, for the people closest to me, and for the incredible Teams at yYoung and Alkiss Water who continue to hold the foundation strong!
Marathon number three is complete!
