So many people are terrified of the sun when it actually can be a very protective tool (if done correctly and safely!)

The goal is to build vitamin D slowly intentionally over the summer months so our body has reserves going into the winter months

Here’s how to approach it:
ā˜€ļøget outside in the morning during UVA rise: this helps build our resilience to the sun during UVB
ā˜€ļøbuild up gradually so your skin adapts
ā˜€ļø be mindful of time outside during UVA and use physical barriers like shade (and zinc sunscreen if necessary)
ā˜€ļø aim for a deep gradual tan by the end of the summer and avoid burning
ā˜€ļø eat anti inflammatory and hydrate well. As a fair skin girl it’s crazy how much my tolerance to sun as improved with all of these habits

Then when winter comes the focus shifts to prioritizing melatonin šŸŒ

Work with the seasons not against them!!!

There is a time and place to cut out foods but what we really want to be doing is supporting the environment so we can handle these foods šŸ™‚

This doesn’t mean we don’t have to eat healthy 85% of the time, but what it means is that you should be able to go out to dinner for a night or go on vacation without worrying about flares and breakouts

Unless you have a true allergy you should be able to handle most foods without intense reactions… and if you don’t it’s usually pointing to more gut imbalances and inflammation under the surface

If you are someone who has these reactions to these foods it might be time to dig deeper with functional testing…
