Meet SLPA Zena! 💜

Zena holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics and Language Studies from Glendon College – York University and a Graduate Certificate in Communicative Disorders Assistant from Durham College. Zena has gained extensive experience volunteering with the Halton-Peel Community Aphasia program and working in both School Based Rehabilitation Services and Preschool Speech and Language programs.

Zena is passionate about supporting children’s communication development and creating meaningful opportunities for individuals to build their confidence and communication skills. She also aims to support children and families from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds by providing individualized treatment plans.

Meet SLPA Sara! 💜

Sara holds a Bachelor of Arts with a Double Major in Psychology and Linguistics from Western University and recently completed her Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) Graduate Certificate from Durham College. Sara has worked mainly with school-aged children, both within a private and a school board setting. Her previous experiences include articulation, literacy, social communication, and Gestalt Language Processing. These experiences enable Sara to provide a client-led therapy approach that prioritizes individual needs, autonomy and client choice.

Samantha earned her Master of Science in Education in Speech-Language Pathology from SUNY Buffalo State University. She provides speech-language services to children and adolescents, supporting early language development, receptive and expressive language, social communication, speech sound disorders, and literacy.

With experience across healthcare, educational, and community-based settings, Samantha is committed to providing evidence-based, neurodiversity-affirming care that is individualized, meaningful, and family-centred. She is known for her warm, empathetic approach and dedication to practicing cultural humility, creating a safe and inclusive environment where individuals and families feel heard and supported.

She has experience working with children with language delays, articulation and phonological disorders, autism, and literacy challenges. She has also worked with adults in the following areas: articulation, business communication, and accent modification. Da Yeon focuses on building a connection with families to create functional goals while striking a balance between having fun and learning. She utilizes person-centred and family-centred approaches to therapy and collaborates with families to ensure their needs are met through ongoing feedback.

Shelby holds an undergraduate degree in Neuroscience and Family and Child Studies from the University of Guelph and a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Toronto. She is a registered Speech-Language Pathologist with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO). She has diverse experience working with children and adults in schools, hospitals, and private practice settings.

Shelby’s approach emphasizes evidence-based and culturally informed treatment, tailoring therapy to be engaging, relevant, and supportive for each individual. She is passionate about helping clients achieve their communication goals in a way that feels meaningful and enjoyable to them.

Emily completed a Bachelor of Science degree with honours in Health Studies at the University of Waterloo and a Master of Speech and Language Pathology degree at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. Emily has had experience working with school-aged children with speech sound disorders and developmental language delays. She has also worked in a hospital setting assessing patients with aphasia and dysphagia.

Emily is currently registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO) and is a member of the Ontario Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (OSLA).
