January is Glaucoma Awareness Month
Many forms of glaucoma have no warning signs, and half of those with glaucoma don’t know they have it, according to the National Eye Institute. However, glaucoma can be detected early, before noticeable vision loss occurs, with a comprehensive dilated eye exam.
We’re sharing our 5 top tips for good eye health!
1) Add lots of leafy greens, carrots, fish, nuts and eggs to your diet. These are high in omega 3, vitamin C, E and zinc which support vision.
2) Wear sunglasses to protect your eyes from UV rays.
3) Make sure you have regular eye checks – catching something early can save your vision.
4) Practice good hygiene by washing your hands before touching your eyes. This can help reduce the risk of irritation and infection.
5) Remember to replace eye make-up and contact lenses frequently, as directed.
