One of my clients said no. A very defiant, I’m digging my heels in, NO. Like forget it lady.
As in forever not ever going to happen.
No way. No way. No way.
Not going to happen. Like ever.
They were adamant.
Ok. I’m not into forcing anyone to do anything.
We do what we can do and what we want to do and it’s all good.
They came to me a few weeks ago for the first time feeling stuck.
And there were a lot of I can’ts, and I won’ts.
All good. No problem.
It’s honest and authentic.
I can work with that.
Do you know why?
Because no one will do anything until they’re good and ready.
And fed up enough that they are just unwilling to go on this way any more.
Or,
like I asked my client, if you did ‘X’, what’s the worst thing that could happen.
They answered, and replied, after a very long minute,
nothing.
So second appointment in, I asked them if they would think about walking.
Just the length of 3 houses.
Once.
One time.
That’s it.
Then they can turn around and come back home. And never do it again.
That was it.
Just consider.
On their third visit, I was promptly informed they walked.
Not one house length.
Not 2 house lengths.
Not my proposed 3 house lengths.
They walked around the block. 😳😳😳😳
Not once.
A few times.
I saw in them what they were afraid to see. From our conversations, and just 2, I heard what they weren’t saying, and I addressed it.
I don’t mess around. I don’t waste time. And I don’t waste theirs.
They were ready.
They just needed the right amount of support and attention to make them feel understood, and heard.
Getting started is hard
especially if you’ve had
so many starts and restarts,
failed attempts,
and support that doesn’t address
the whole you.
Not everyone will move forward this fast.
If it’s not on your timing, forget it. It won’t work.
But if you’re frustrated with the false starts, unsupportive support, and need a sustainable way forward
let’s chat
