Remember: **Sensory overload is not a choice, and it’s not misbehaviour.** ❤️ Children need understanding, patience, and support to help their bodies and minds feel calm again.
✨ Try these 5 simple steps:
👀 **1. NOTICE** — Recognize the early signs of sensory overload before things become too much.
🌿 **2. FIND SPACE** — Move away from crowded, noisy, or bright environments to a quieter, calmer place.
🎧 **3. REDUCE SENSORY INPUT** — Try headphones, dimmed lights, fewer distractions, or a quiet break.
🤗 **4. DEEP PRESSURE & HEAVY WORK** — If your child finds it calming, try wall pushes, carrying something appropriate, or a preferred firm-pressure activity. Always respect your child's preferences and boundaries.
💙 **5. RECHARGE** — Give your child unhurried time to recover without pressure to speak, socialize, or return to activities immediately.
