Kalyna Country Primary Care Network Welcome to the Kalyna Country PCN! Our doctors and staff work in the communities of Killam, Hardisty, Tofield, Vegreville, Vermilion, and Viking.

As physicians and healthcare providers working in your community, the Kalyna Country PCN is committed to providing you with programs and services designed to improve your quality of care. Primary Care Networks, or PCNs, are an innovative way of delivering exceptional health care. The networks have at their hub your family physician. It has been well documented that having your own family physician

improves your health. Through the PCN, your family doctor is connected to a wide variety of health care professionals who will ensure that you get the support, information and additional care that you need to be the healthiest you possible. As kids and teens head back to school, they may face new social situations and peer pressure. One of the best ways to help them navigate these moments is to start the conversation early.

Here are a few ways to prepare your child:
🚗 Have a plan. Let them know they can always call or text if they need a safe ride home.
💙 Build confidence. Remind them that it's okay to walk away from situations that don't feel right.
👂 Keep the conversation going. One talk isn't enough. Regular, judgment-free check-ins help build trust.

This International Youth Day, let's support young people by giving them the confidence and tools to make healthy choices at school, with friends and beyond.

🎗️ Mobile mammography screening is coming to Hardisty

The Screen Test Mobile Mammography Clinic will be at the Hardisty Health Centre on August 6 and 7, 2026.

Screen Test brings breast cancer screening to communities across Alberta using its state-of-the-art mobile mammography unit. Screening mammograms can detect changes that are too small to be felt, before symptoms appear and when treatment may be more effective.

📞 Book an appointment: 1-800-667-0604
💵 Cost: Free

Who should be screened?

➡ Women ages 45 to 74 are encouraged to have a mammogram every two years. No referral is needed.

➡ Women ages 40 to 44 should discuss the benefits and risks of screening with their healthcare provider. A referral is required for their first mammogram in Alberta.

➡ Women ages 75 and older may continue screening and are encouraged to speak with their healthcare provider.

The mobile clinic will also be in Provost from August 10 to 13.
