Before using ovulation strips or temperature tracking, I always assess these foundational factors:

✔️Thyroid health: essential for ovulation and maintaining pregnancy

✔️Nutrient levels: including iron, B12, vitamin D, and folate

✔️Adrenal health: because cortisol influences hormone cycles and rhythms

This thorough review helps create a personalized fertility care plan.

If you are trying to conceive, booking a comprehensive hormone review with your Naturopathic Doctor is an important first step.

Here is your friendly reminder to take a deep breath

Relax your shoulders, drop them down away from your ears

Unclench your jaw

You did enough

You are enough

Go rest

Find some stillness

You can go be amazing again tomorrow

Years of diet culture have taught us all or nothing thinking.

Do the “right” thing = success = worth 😃

Miss a day at the gym or choose fries over salad = bad = failure = shame ☹️

This is your friendly reminder that health is a long game. Food doesn’t need a good or bad label and you don’t lose all the progress you made if you miss a few days of taking your supplements.

Self compassion and acceptance of your own humanity also need to be central to your health.

Move forward in your own way.

Progress over perfection

✨Big news for postmenopausal women with recurrent UTIs. ✨

A large 2026 study in Urology using the Epic Cosmos database (almost 2 million women with recurrent UTI) found that those prescribed vaginal estrogen had far lower rates of serious complications:

⭐️ ~50–80% lower rates of sepsis
⭐️ ~22% lower hospitalization
⭐️ ~60–80% lower odds of death, especially in women 70+

This is an observational study, so it can’t prove cause and effect, but the results line up with what we already know: vaginal estrogen helps restore the urogenital tract, reduces recurrent UTIs, and may prevent life-threatening infections.

If you’re postmenopausal and dealing with recurrent UTIs, this is a conversation worth having with your clinician.

Save this for later and share with someone who keeps getting “one more UTI.”

❌Only testing and treating one partner❌

Most of the fertility patients in my office are women. Lots of male partners seek support but the majority don’t. Statistically it’s just as likely the male partner is contributing in some way to their challenges conceiving or with pregnancy loss. But gender bias knows no bounds and fertility is no exception.

Case example:
My female patient with PMOS (Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome, formerly known as PCOS) came to me several years ago for support with her irregular cycles and infertility. Because of her diagnosis and irregular cycles the assumption was she was the reason they had yet to fall pregnant. But on my suggestion, they had her partner’s semen tested, just in case.

The result= male factor infertility.

It’s not always one or the other. Sometimes it’s both. A semen analysis is a non-invasive test that may contain important information that can be a game changer for many couples.

Finding this out early allowed this couple to BOTH get the support they needed to move their fertility journey forward at the same time.

If you are getting tests run to dig deeper into your infertility, so should your partner.

And I’m here for all of it.

Thinness and hotness does not equal health.

Diet culture has spent so long conflating thinness and attractiveness with health that often people can’t let that go even when it harms them.

Wellness culture in its current form is sometimes just the diet industry wearing a new outfit.

Be discerning who you follow. You can be healthy without focusing on your weight. And it shouldn’t cause harm or be expensive and complicated.

When the food restriction causes you to lose your period. You may be skinny, but if your body shuts down your period, you are not healthy.

When the supplement subscription sold by a hot influencer promises you the world, but you are NOT doing the basics like sleeping, eating vegetables, exercising and managing your stress. You probably can save yourself some money and start there.

If you aren’t sure where to start on your health journey, start with the basics. Anyone who tells you differently doesn’t have your best health and interest at heart.

Still not sure or want support with your healthy foundation. Send me a DM if you want to work with me.

Women’s health is influenced by hormones, stress, metabolism, and the nervous system across every stage of life.

Naturopathic care supports women by looking at how these systems work together, rather than in isolation.

Hormones affect sleep, mood, energy, cycles, fertility, thyroid function, and mental health. Stress physiology and nervous system regulation shape how these signals are received and expressed in the body.

My clinical focus is women’s health, including hormonal regulation, periods, fertility and infertility, perimenopause, menopause, thyroid health, stress, and mental wellbeing.

Care is individualized to the season of life a woman is in, with the goal of supporting balance, resilience, and long-term health.

Women’s bodies are dynamic. Thoughtful, systems-based care helps them function at their best.

What area of women’s health would you like to understand better right now? 👇

When we stop expecting linear output from our very cyclical body system, energy, mood, and nervous system regulation improve naturally.

From a naturopathic perspective, learning to align sleep, workload, and stress with hormonal rhythms is one of the most effective ways to support long-term hormone health.

Which phase do you notice energy changes the most in? Let me know in the comments 👇

Save this as a reminder to work with your body and not against it.

When I recommend acupuncture for fertility, it’s never about “forcing” the body to conceive. It’s about improving how well the reproductive system is supported and regulated.

From a clinical perspective, fertility is influenced by hormone signaling, blood flow to the ovaries and uterus, nervous system balance, and stress physiology. Acupuncture works by interacting with these systems simultaneously.

Research shows acupuncture can:
• support regulation of estrogen and progesterone
• improve blood flow to the uterus and ovaries
• calm the nervous system and lower stress hormones
• support ovulation and menstrual cycle regularity

Stress matters more than most people realize. Chronic nervous system activation can interfere with ovulation, implantation, and hormone communication.

Acupuncture helps shift the body out of an stress-dominant state and into one that’s more supportive of reproductive function.

For patients undergoing IVF or other fertility treatments, acupuncture is often used as an adjunct (not a replacement) to support ovarian response, uterine receptivity, and overall physiological resilience during a demanding process.

Fertility care is never one-size-fits-all. The goal is to support the whole system so the body has the best possible conditions to do what it’s designed to do.

Have you been curious about acupuncture for fertility, or have you tried it already?
