“I’m dizzy.”
As physiotherapists, we hear this almost every day.
But one of our first questions is:
“Can you describe exactly what you feel?”
That answer tells us a lot.
If you’re feeling lightheaded, faint, or generally unsteady, that’s usually dizziness.
If it feels like you or the room is spinning, that’s vertigo—and it often points to an inner ear problem rather than a brain problem.
The good news? One of the most common causes of vertigo, called BPPV, is highly treatable. Many people improve after just one or two vestibular physiotherapy treatments.
