As we say in Traditional Chinese Medicine "where there is pain there is no circulation. Where there is circulation there is no pain."
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For example, lets talk about endometriosis is one of the most common causes of infertility and about 10-20% of women have it. In endometriosis, the lining of the uterus grows outside of the uterus. This tissue still acts like normal uterine lining and builds and sheds each month where it's not suppose to. Ouch....
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Endo symptoms may include painful periods or cramps, heavy periods, pain at ovulation, and spotting before the period begins. It can also be associated with painful in*******se, bowel movements during menstruation and ovarian cysts.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A hallmark symptoms is chronic pelvic pain and lower back pain. Chinese Medicine attributes endometriosis to blood stagnation and dampness blocking. So when there is lack of normal movement of circulation there is pain.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Much of what we do to tame endometriosis is aimed at reducing exposure to excess estrogen, supporting the liver (as it breaks down estrogen) and improving circulation.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Using the 5 Pillars of TCM:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
▫️Acupuncture can clear inflammation and improve blood flow in the pelvic area.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
▫️There are some herbs that can help improve circulation and break up blood stasis.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
▫️Tailor nutrition and include omega-3 fatty acids in the diet to flight inflammation and improve blood flow.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
▫️Take evening primrose oil, eat fruits rich in vitamin C and bioflavonoids, and avoid hydrogenated fats to combat inflammation.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
▫️Improve blood flow by avoiding strenuous exercise during your period, inversion and using pads instead of tampons, which can interfere with the free flow of blood.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Pain is just a symptom. You can be free of it, it might take some work but it's worth it!

✨Hustle + Busy Culture has to End.✨The long term physical and metal consequences are too great! Stress causes 99% of all illnesses and leaves us feeling depleted, burnt out and exhausted 😩

Women who run on stress hormones (cortisol/adrenaline) may deal with some or most of these symptoms:

• Headaches and migraines
• Depression and anxiety
• Autoimmunity conditions
• Weight gain or weight loss
• Problems getting pregnant
• Menstrual cycle problems
• Acne or skin rashes
• Digestive issues

The Hustle Culture is burning us out and is not a sustainable way to grow & thrive as women. I've been on that train and it isn't for me. There is a way of being that allows us to feel good in our life and body while still getting things done. One of boundaries, peace and sustainable energy.

You can take steps to help handle stress in a positive way and creating healthy hustle habits:

• Understanding your cycle
• Getting enough sleep
• Meditating
• Saying "no"
• Eating nourishing food
• Creating sustainable schedules
• Moving your body in ways that feel good.
• Drinking water
• Journaling your thoughts

Yes you will have stressful and long days ahead, that is a given in life. But there are tools and self care ways that help you get a handle of your stress, reset your health and care for your body for life! It's my passion to help you create that!

Remember, a candle that burns twice as bright burns half as long. If you want a feel good again you need to create sustainable healthy habits and become your bodies bff for life!

Do you have something in your life that helps you combat stress in your life? If not it’s worth having a conversation. Message me today and let’s talk✨

Chinese Medicine can help you feel your best not only in clinic but when aided in your every day life 👉🏼It is very effective for many conditions including pain, headaches, stress, hormones, digestive issues and many others. Let’s talk about it👇🏼
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
TCM has been in development for over 3000 years and is still practiced extensively in China and increasingly in other parts of the world, including here in Canada. In a modern setting, acupuncture can be practiced alone but it is actually just one of several modalities that make up TCM. They are:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. Acupuncture📌
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This involves regulating the body using fine sterile needles, but also encompasses practices such as moxibustion (heating specific acupoints by burning mugwort herb).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. Herbal Medicine🍄
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Using specific combinations of herbs to heal ailments is the original basis of internal medicine. Chinese Herbal Medicine literature is extensive, detailed and has been refined over the centuries as the most effective formulas were recognised.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. Cupping, Gua Sha & Massage💆🏼‍♀️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Cupping therapy (using suction to regulate blood circulation), gua sha using jade stone to improve lymph drainage & blood flow. Tui Na (to push and squeeze), is the practice specific to Chinese medicine, and uses the same meridian theory as acupuncture.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4. Dietary therapy & Nutrition🫐
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Understanding the properties of food as well as how and when to eat has a huge impact on our health. Food is medicine if we have the know-how.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
5. Exercise🧘🏼‍♀️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For centuries TCM has promoted the importance of exercise for our body to maintain its normal function or restore mental and physical health.
