Brother John Elving

Brother John Elving I am a street minister working with the homeless and people with drug addictions. God bless you. My whole life I struggled with drug addictions.

By the grace of God, I am in my 6 years clean and sober. Now in my 5 years of full-time street ministry. I love the homeless and the addicted.

When I was a teenage runaway I got involved with streetlife, gangs, jail, and homelessness. I graduated from the Teen Challenge drug addictions center and flew to Mexico City. Two years later I graduated with a diploma in Ministry in Spanish. My ministry

is focused on the truth found in the Bible taught in all Christian Churches. I was dedicated and baptized in a Pentecostal church. My family has been a part of the Canadian Pentecostal church for three generations.

The good news of the Gospel is forgiveness of sin. The consequence of our sins is hell, a place of torment for eternity. The Father sent his only son, Jesus Christ to die on the cross for our sins. We accept the gift of salvation by faith in Jesus Christ.

There are great pastors in your community who want to help you. Contact them and get involved in a local church. We are all one family in Christ Jesus our Lord.

🎓 Congratulations, Denise! 🙏

Today, my father-in-law, Pastor Antonio from Mexico, and I attended the Patricia Hope House Open House and celebrated Denise’s graduation from the Teen Challenge program.

There was a wonderful turnout of family members, community leaders, supporters, and people involved with the program. Everything was beautifully arranged, with food, cupcakes, coffee, and juice. The women sang, and the entire celebration was filled with joy, freedom, and restoration. The presence of the Holy Spirit was clearly evident. 🕊️❤️

As a Teen Challenge graduate from 2003, it was a blessing to meet Denise and encourage her as she begins this new chapter. Please keep her in your prayers as she continues walking with the Lord. 🙌

Wendy Townsend, the Women’s Centre Director pictured with me, kindly gave us a personal tour. We also met Kimberley, the Program Manager, and I was honoured to give both Wendy and Kimberley copies of my book, THE STREET: The BJE Story. 📖

It was also wonderful to reconnect with my good friend Terrence, pictured with my father-in-law and me. Terrence entered Teen Challenge around the time I graduated, so seeing him again after all these years was a special blessing.

God bless Patricia Hope House and the entire ministry of Teen Challenge as they continue restoring lives, reuniting families, and helping people discover freedom and new life in Jesus Christ. 🙏❤️

If you're struggling with addiction, there is hope. Jesus Christ still saves, restores, and transforms lives.

📸 A few snapshots from the journey!

For eight years, I have served in full-time ministry, meeting people where they are and sharing the love and hope of Jesus—one person at a time.

From street outreach and addiction recovery centres to churches and communities across Canada, the United States, and Mexico, every photo represents a story, a prayer, a conversation, or a life touched by God’s grace.

This ministry remains completely free. Your prayers and generous support help provide food, clothing, transportation, practical assistance, Gospel resources, and encouragement to people facing homelessness, addiction, and difficult circumstances.

Thank you to everyone who prays, gives, shares these posts, and stands alongside this ministry. I truly could not continue doing this without you!

If you're struggling with addiction, there is hope. Jesus Christ still saves, restores, and transforms lives.

It was such an encouragement to be back at the Teen Challenge rehabilitation centre, preaching in the chapel service. It was especially meaningful because it was the very same chapel and one-year program that I completed back in 2003.

I brought along a few old photos and shared part of my testimony to encourage the men. It was a wonderful time, and I’m grateful to have been invited back to speak again.

One of the things I love most about Teen Challenge is that once you graduate, you’re part of one big family. By God’s grace, I now have friends connected to Teen Challenge all over the world, and it’s always a blessing to reconnect with this ministry.

I was also encouraged by the faithful volunteers who give up their time every week to walk alongside these men in their recovery. Seeing lives transformed and people finding freedom from addiction reminds me that there is hope. Recovery is possible, and God is still changing lives.

God bless you all!

Jesse Duplantis false Job teaching- Believing For The Things You Don't Want

Jesse Duplantis teaches that Christians should “quit believing for the things they don’t want.” In this livestream, I examine his statements about cancer, COPD, heart surgery, and his claim, “I create my world, and I walk in it.”

We will also briefly examine multiple recordings in which Jesse repeatedly claims that if someone gives his ministry $1,000, he will get 1,000 people born again within one week. Can salvation really be connected to a specific donation this way?

I believe God still heals today, and I will continue praying for the sick. But biblical faith is not denying medical reality or believing our words control every outcome. Salvation is the work of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit—it cannot be purchased or guaranteed through a financial “seed.”

We’ll compare these teachings with Proverbs 18:21, Daniel 3:17–18, James 4:13–16, Acts 8:18–23, and other passages in their proper context.

Is this genuine biblical faith—or Word of Faith manipulation?

This livestream is presented for commentary, criticism, education, and biblical examination.

🙏 A DIVINE CONNECTION IN CHILLIWACK!

Meet my friend Danny! I stopped to speak with him and told him I was a street pastor on my way to share at Teen Challenge. Danny immediately pulled out Proverbs 3:5–6 on his phone—and then told me he was also a Teen Challenge graduate!

What an awesome connection. We are Teen Challenge brothers and, most importantly, brothers in Christ. Graduates of this program can be found worldwide, but we are all part of one family in Jesus. 🌎✝️

As Danny said, “We don’t have to like everybody, but we have to love them.” ❤️

Please keep Danny in your prayers. God bless you, my brother! 🙏📖

🙏 GOD ORDAINS OUR STEPS!

While I was in Chilliwack, I reached out to a man sitting in a van. I introduced myself as a pastor and asked, “Do you know who Jesus is?”

He immediately pulled out his phone and showed me Proverbs 3:5–6:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.”

I told him I was on my way to preach at Teen Challenge, and he said, “I graduated from Teen Challenge!” His name is Danny, and he also spent two years working there fixing vehicles. Please keep Danny in your prayers as he continues seeking the Lord and staying in His Word. 🙏📖

The other picture is of Jesse, another Teen Challenge graduate who now serves on staff and helps arrange the chapel services. Jesse invited me to share my testimony with the students, and it was an incredible time!

The blue gift Jesse is holding is a pen and booklet from Teen Challenge in Mexico. It says “Reto a la Juventud,” which is Teen Challenge in Spanish. The director gave it to me during my recent ministry trip to Mexico, and I felt led by the Lord to pass it along to Jesse. 🇲🇽🙏

I also gave out 15 copies of my book to the men in the program. 📚

This is the very same Teen Challenge centre where I completed the program and graduated in 2003. Many of the Scriptures I memorized there are still in my heart today. That year of studying the Bible and seeking the Lord gave me a strong foundation for my life and ministry.

I encouraged the men to stay and finish the program. We talked about Moses, the Apostle Paul, King David and Joseph, men whom God prepared through long seasons of waiting. One year devoted to God at Teen Challenge can affect the rest of your life!

If someone asked me what season had the greatest influence on my life, I would say my time at Teen Challenge. It wasn’t easy, but God used that program, His Word and the people around me to change the entire direction of my life. ❤️‍🔥

Please pray for Danny, Jesse, the staff and every student currently going through the program. There is hope and new life in Jesus Christ! ✝️

❤️ If someone asked me about one of the most important years of my life, I would have to say the year I spent in the Teen Challenge program, graduating in 2003.

Teen Challenge is a voluntary rehabilitation program for people whose lives have been affected by addiction. It was one of the hardest things I have ever gone through, but it was also an extraordinary time. I was able to study the Bible, grow in the Lord, and seek His will for my life.

In the picture is of me at 28 years old with my friend Bill, (standing outside the house by the sign) who graduated alongside me. Sadly, Bill is no longer with us. He was one of the funniest people you could ever meet, and I loved him dearly.

Since then, God has given me opportunities to visit Teen Challenge programs across North America, Sweden, Finland, and Albania. I also have friends serving as directors in countries such as Israel and Serbia, which I hope to visit one day.

I’ve shared in chapel services, encouraged men and women in treatment, spoken in boys’ programs, and partnered with Teen Challenge through my ministry outreach in several countries.

I guess I’m the old guy now! 😂 But by God’s grace, I will continue coming alongside Teen Challenge and encouraging people inside treatment centres. There is hope. There is freedom. And there is a beautiful life waiting for you outside of treatment.

God is still restoring lives, and I’m living proof. 🙏❤️
