In the wake of summer festival openings, I wrote this piece for Psychology Today on something so many actors, and artists of every kind, quietly wrestle with: how to survive a harsh review, and why criticism gets so far under our skin.

If it resonates, I would love to hear your thoughts! 🎭 🩰

Why does one harsh review eclipse a hundred standing ovations? Here's how performers can weather criticism without letting it dim their light.

My latest piece for Psychology Today explores something many of us in the performing arts have witnessed far too often: bullying in rehearsal rooms.
I reflect on its quiet but lasting impact on creativity, and offer some thoughts on how we can better protect not only the well-being of artists, but the heart of true collaboration.
If it resonates, I'd love to hear your reflections. 💔🎭✨

Happy to have this piece published in Psychology Today. I’ve been reflecting on ways to integrate my past life in the theatre with my counselling career. Writing about the mental health challenges of touring artists felt like the perfect start. Looking forward to writing more about the unique challenges faced the theatre and film world when it comes to mental health, identity, and well-being. I’d love to hear if this resonates with you.

The touring life isn't all glamour and applause. Discover the hidden toll it takes on performing artists and how they can reclaim their mental health on the road.
