I’m a writer and podcast producer who really wants to help people sleep. In the not too distant past, I struggled with pretty bad insomnia and it wasn’t a great experience. It was hard to concentrate, get motivated, stay positive, maintain relationships – you know, all the stuff that comes from not getting enough sleep. But through a combination of sleep hygiene methods that included getting more
exercise, less screen time, a bit of meditation, and a lot of hot baths, I was able to manage my insomnia little by little. One of the best things I did while getting back on track was start listening to podcasts at night after reading. The stories being told would divert the cyclical thought patterns that are so often associated with insomnia, and as I became interested in what was being discussed, my exhausted body would take over and it was sleepy go bye-bye time. I’d be listening to a story on how Twinkies work and suddenly I’d be jolted out of my relaxation to hear about how a new underwear company would revolutionize my life. It was counterproductive to what I was trying to achieve. So WikiSleep Podcast is my response to that. It’s somewhat interesting stories told over meditative music in a slow, relaxed way. Listen to the podcast when you go to bed or when you’re just relaxing – it’s really up to you how you engage with it. If you’d like to get in touch, you can contact me through the WikiSleep website.
