Our Sequoia Centre in Royal Oak offers a welcoming setting for meaningful gatherings and celebrations of life. Honouring Those Who Served

The British Columbia Law Enforcement Memorial exists to honour the police and peace officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of British

Each year, on the last Sunday of September, members from across the province gather at the Bastion ensuring the courage and sacrifice of fallen officers are remembered with dignity and respect.

The next memorial service will be held on Sunday September 27th, 2026, with a step off at 12:30pm. The memorial service will begin at 1:00pm.

Tomorrow, we honour the RCMP Members who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to Canadians.

The RCMP National Memorial Service is a time for Members, families, colleagues, veterans, employees, and communities across the country to come together in remembrance, support surviving families, and reflect on the legacy of the 251 RCMP Members who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Today, we pause in remembrance of the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001 ... a day that forever changed lives, families, communities and the world.

2,977 people lost their lives, including 24 Canadians. We remember each of them, their families and loved ones, and all those who continue to carry their loss today.

We also honour the extraordinary courage and compassion that followed. First responders, firefighters, police officers, paramedics, military personnel, search and rescue teams, volunteers, funeral professionals and countless others stepped forward to help during an unimaginable time, often putting the needs of others before their own.

In Canada, communities opened their doors to thousands of stranded travellers when flights in North American airspace were grounded or diverted. In Gander, Newfoundland and Labrador, strangers were welcomed with kindness, shelter and food, demonstrating the very best of humanity.

Today, we remember those we lost, honour those who helped and reflect on the courage, compassion and humanity that emerged from tragedy.

We will never forget.
