In Chinese Medicine, summer is the season of fullest expression. It is the time when the plants bloom and set fruit. It is the time when what has been stored, planted, and tended gently in the colder months moves fully forward into the world. It is maximum expansion and peak yang.
It feels like the right time to share news that is expansive, exciting, and full of the ease of natural transition.
As we approach our twentieth year of service Michael has been reflecting a lot on Hemma’s legacy. His wish has always been to see Hemma Community Acupuncture continue to flourish and serve the community beyond his shepherding, to become a shared vision rather than an individual one.
A few months ago that shared vision became even more real as Malcolm and Melanie from U Retreat decided to take over the ownership of Hemma, ensuring that the clinic will continue to grow and flourish. Ever since our move, the collaboration with U retreat has been a dream come true. They welcomed us into our new home with so much kindness and appreciation for our work. Because of this the clinic has grown past the challenges of the pandemic and continues to reach more and more people in a time of deep need.
Michael is still here, happy to be one of the team of acupunks serving this community. Melanie and Malcolm are already woven into our threads through their deep involvement over the past years. They are committed to keeping this a place where people come to feel at home. A place of comfort. A place of care.
We are all in deep gratitude and delight about this next chapter.
