🎉 As of February 9th, The Athlete Centre will officially become Recharge Physiotherapy + Performance

This change reflects how our clinic has grown - we still love working with athletes, but our care now supports a broader range of people who want to stay active in the ways that matter to them 🏃‍♂️

What’s staying the same:
* Your care team
* Our location 📍
* Your appointments

What’s changing:
* Our name and look 👀
* Some updates to how you’ll see us online and in-clinic

You don’t need to do anything differently - your upcoming appointments will continue as scheduled.

If you haven’t yet submitted insurance for previous sessions, we’ll continue to appear as The Athlete Centre on insurer portals for several weeks while we give everyone time to be notified of the change.

Meet the TAC Team for Power to Summit 2025!

In support of , Rachelle, Marita, Leo and Michelle will be working together to accumulate the elevation of Mount Everest over a 40 hour period on May 23rd to 25th!

This will be our 6th time participating in this amazing event and to date we’ve raised over $6000.

Power To Be is an organization that inspires people living with a barrier or disability to explore their limitless abilities through inclusive adventures rooted in nature. With programs offered in Victoria and Vancouver, Power To Be helps participants build confidence in themselves and connections in their community through actives such as kayaking, canoeing, hiking, camping and more. Everyone belongs in nature and you can help turn possibility into reality.

Our goals this year is to raise $1200 and we need your help to get to the summit! To donate head to the link in our profile!

The pandemic has a long-lasting, far-reaching impact on athletes with intellectual disabilities, who were already far too familiar with the pain of isolation. More than ever, your support is needed to rebuild all of the year-round, in-person sport programs that create empowering connections, open hearts and minds to inclusion, and break down barriers.

As a women-owned, local business, we are proud to support for a second year. West Coast Wonder Women + (WCWW+) is an all-female+ international boxing card hosted by May 24-26!

At The Athlete Centre we believe there’s an athlete in Every Body and that every one should have access to sport. This event will bring the community together, increase awareness and provide an opportunity to underrepresented groups to compete in a typically male-dominant sport.

We are looking forward to supporting the athletes again this year with pre-event exercise therapy resources (keep an eye on our upcoming posts) and on-site therapy support while catching some of the action, ringside!

Was a beautiful day for some cold plunges (and sauna!) at the 🥵🥶

The TAC Team headed out to this weekend for a farewell to as she moves on to focus on mobile massage. Holly has been with TAC since 2020 and we have valued the energy and humour she brought to the team in addition to her skills and experience as an RMT.

While her departure leaves a hole in our hearts, we have a diverse team of incredible therapists who are here to assist you in your 2024 health and wellness goals. We’ve added some more RMT availability to support the transition so book ahead or add yourself to the waitlist!

At The Athlete Centre, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to participate in sport. That’s why we’re participating in the MOVE430 Challenge this month - a commitment to 30 minutes of consecutive movement every day in April!
 
We’re thrilled to partner with this year by providing daily workouts to the participants! The videos are from our online movement program MVMT Crew, that kept people moving from home during the pandemic. There will be a mix of core, mobility, yoga, movement skills and some classic sweaty circuits.

KidSport supports children who need financial assistance with sport registration fees and equipment costs. Like us, KidSport believes that the power of sport participation promotes the development of children’s social, mental and physical well being. Through increasing access to quality sport programs, KidSport strengthens communities across Canada.

Every $365 raised is a season for sport for a local child who would otherwise be limited to the sidelines. All funds raised locally, stay local and donations of $20 or more are tax deductible.
