✨ What can happen after you say yes to Yoga Teacher Training? Meet MĀ alumna, Per Sekhon. ✨

Per and our owner, Sarada, were friends and neighbours when Sarada encouraged her to come to MĀ. Per received a scholarship to complete her 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training with our Winter 2022 cohort. Saying yes to the opportunity started a new chapter in Per’s life.

Today, Per teaches yoga to students and athletes at the University of Victoria, creating the kind of welcoming and inclusive yoga space she had once been searching for herself.

Alongside her teaching, Per is a social worker, learning design specialist and facilitator who has worked with the Federal Government of Canada for more than 20 years. She also serves as MĀ’s BIPOC Liaison, helping members of our community feel heard, seen and supported.

Per’s story is a reminder that Yoga Teacher Training can lead to so much more than teaching a class. It can deepen your practice, build your confidence, connect you with community and open doors you may not have imagined for yourself.

We’re so proud of you, Per! Thank you for showing us what can happen when you give yourself the opportunity to go deeper. ✨

Could Yoga Teacher Training be the beginning of your next chapter?

Let’s share some love with Per Sekhon 🙌

That’s a wrap on the most magical 10 days in Kenya and Tanzania. The magic is simply beyond words.

We were reflecting during our closing circle what a time warp retreats can be. Though you are only with each other a short period of time, the experience of being new somewhere together and living all the highs and lows can form lifelong bonds.

I am totally blown away by what I have seen and experienced here in these amazing places. The natural world bellows out of every corner of every landscape. Truly a dream come true!

Throat Chakra Workshop with Naad Yogi Gurnimit Singh
Naad Yogi Gurnimit Singh

The throat chakra is the sacred gateway of expression—where truth, creativity, and the voice of the soul flow. In this workshop, Naad Yogi Gurnimit Singh guides you through sound as a powerful healing modality to release blocks, awaken resonance, and expand into your authentic voice.

Through a combination of breath practices, sacred chants, and kriyas, you will be supported in activating and healing your throat chakra. Together, we will enter a space of safety and reverence, where your voice is not only welcomed but celebrated.

This is more than a workshop—it is a sacred journey into reclaiming the freedom of your expression, creating harmony between your inner truth and outer voice. You will leave with practical tools, inspired practices, and a deeper connection to your voice as a channel of healing, creativity, and divine alignment.

The intention of this gathering is to cultivate safety, empowerment, and liberation within your voice—so that your words, your song, and your silence can reflect the fullness of your soul.

Congratulations to our newest group of YTT grads!

It was so wonderful to work with these budding teachers. They really showed up!

These intensive programs take place during the summer months. It can be a difficult time to find commitment and dedication as the days are long and inviting the spirit of adventure.

Self discovery is its own adventure and the rewards of learning these practices go beyond what you can imagine.

These students made us so proud. Now, go light up the world!

Our next extended yoga teacher training program starts September 26th-December 13th along with our internship program! There are spaces in both ❤️ Sarada Pranav Charles De Goede Herlaar Carrie Watkins

Kirtan with Naad Yogi Gurnimit Singh Naad Yogi Gurnimit Singh

Naad Yogi Gurnimit Singh’s Kirtan Ceremony is an immersive journey into the heart of sound, devotion, and sacred remembrance. Through the weaving of ancient chants, mantra, breathwork, and practices of intentional release, this ceremony becomes a living prayer—an offering of sound as medicine.
Held in deep reverence, the space invites participants to honour the threads of ancestral healing while opening into the resonance of the present moment. Guided by the vibrations of kirtan, you are invited to enter a meditative state where sound dissolves the boundaries of the mind, allowing the soul’s essence to shine forth.

This is not simply a musical gathering, but a spiritual immersion—a temple of vibration where voices unite, hearts soften, and the Divine is felt within and all around. Through sound, silence, and stillness, we reconnect with our true nature, with each other, and with the sacred path that calls us home.

Come as you are, and be carried into a space of devotion, healing, and inner awakening.

Naad Yogi Gurnimit Singh is a third-generation kirtan singer, teacher, and guide rooted in the ancient traditions of sound and bhakti. Born in Chandigarh, India, and now based in Vancouver, Canada, he carries the lineage of Indian classical music and the wisdom of the throat chakra into his offerings. Through kirtan, mantra, and deep meditative practices, Gurnimit creates sacred spaces for healing, self-discovery, and community connection. His path is dedicated to inclusivity, honoring all identities, and transmitting the medicine of sound with devotion and love.
