Are you due before July 10?

Earthside Birth currently has space for 3 new acupuncture clients seeking support with labour preparation and cervical ripening.

Labour preparation acupuncture is generally recommended beginning around 36 weeks, with weekly treatments leading up to birth. In the weeks before 36 weeks, acupuncture can also support the third trimester in other ways, including:

• pelvic, hip, and low back discomfort
• sleep support
• stress and nervous system regulation
• digestion and reflux
• swelling and fluid circulation
• general support as the body prepares for birth

Our acupuncturist will be away for a few weeks starting July 10, and appointment space is limited before then. If your due date is coming up, now is a good time to book in.

Appointments are available with Hélène on Mondays from 2:30–7 pm at Earthside Birth.

Welcome Gracelyn, Millie, Zanaya, Florence, Isabelle, Amber, Adira, Eleanor, Hinami, Jonah, Sophia, Miller, Erik, Clara, Audrey, Charlie, Xerxes and Jones!!!
We are so honoured to be present for these beautiful births, thank you to all the families for inviting us!

For our clinic midwives, students and admin made a small gesture of
Nurses at Victoria General Hospital in the antepartum unit, labour and delivery ward, postpartum ward and NICU all play such a crucial role in supporting so many of the families we care for!!! We are so appreciative of their hard work. Often short staffed and missing their breaks, our nurses show up with empathy, compassion, smiles and encouragement for the families growing in Victoria.
To our valued nurses: we see how hard you work; we see how much you hold; and we see how much you care!

Join us to learn about some of the non-pharmacological pain management strategies that work for 🧘‍♀️learn about how we keep home births ; hear about why a transfer to 🏥 might be recommended; SEE 👀 all 50lb worth of equipment carry to each homebirth; learn about what your postpartum care looks like and hear from someone that recently had a lovely homebirth too!!!
Clients from any practice are welcome. You don’t have to be PLANNING a homebirth to come and ask questions and check it out

We have space for October due dates! If you or someone you know if looking for midwifery care with a competent and caring team, please fill out an intake form at www.earthsidebirth.ca/midwifery-care
Our space is cozy and bright and our midwives are passionate about providing excellent care! We work in teams of 4 so you meet your entire team before you give birth, this helps ensure you know your midwife the day you go into labour. Our practice offers choice of birthplace - Victoria General hospital or out of hospital birth. We provide postpartum home visits (we do baby’s bloodwork at your house if indicated too!!) and have several IBCLC lactation consultants at our practice. We are passionate about providing infant feeding support no matter how you feed your baby. Our practice has a policy of providing inclusive care for all families and are committed to creating a space that feels safe and supportive. We look forward to supporting your growing family!

We’re excited to offer acupuncture with .julienne at Earthside Birth as a supportive therapy throughout pregnancy.

Acupuncture can support a wide range of pregnancy-related experiences, including nausea, fatigue, sleep changes, pain or tension, digestion, emotional regulation, breech presentation, and preparation for labour.

Treatments are gentle, individualized, and adapted to each stage of pregnancy.

One recent client shared:
“Hélène is such an amazing acupuncturist who brings a high level of knowledge and care to each treatment. I saw her for nausea and other pregnancy-related symptoms and each treatment was great.”

Hélène has added a few extra clinic days in April to improve access. You can currently find her on the schedule Monday afternoons and evenings, with a few Wednesdays available as well.

Evening appointments tend to fill quickly, so booking ahead is recommended.
