Why We Fight (And Why It Kills The Spark!)

As a couples and s//x therapist, here’s something I see over and over:

It’s not the big blowups that kill the spark, it’s the small moments: the ones that blow by so fast you don’t even notice them. A misread tone, a dismissal, a split second where something is lost in translation.
These moments are building (or depleting) emotional trust and safety every single time they happen, and that trust is what your intimacy is built on.

Our bodies clock this even if our brains don’t. This is why so many people find themselves stuck in cycles of hopeless-feeling conflict that slowly obliterates closeness. It’s not about the love, because you’ve got that in your heart still, right? It’s about the little moments no one taught you to see, let alone what to do within them.

This is exactly what we’re going to tackle 🔥

📅 I’m running a 2-hour online workshop: “Why We Fight (And Why It Kills the Spark!)”
…with me, Rhiannon Webb, s*xologist & therapist

Date: Wednesday July 15th | Time: 7pm PT | $65/person

Absolutely, like so many members of my field, this woman was influential in my career choice.
May her memory be a blessing ❤️

Hello dear community, you've been on my mind (you're always on my mind!)
I came across a great list-icle which I'm going to pop into the comments here since news sharing is no longer enabled on fb in Canada. '7 Therapists Share Their Best Advice for Coping with Existential Dread and Grief'.
I know we're all feeling it. There is so much suffering in our collective and it can feel incredibly difficult to navigate the balance of showing up and of taking needed care of ourselves. Check out the article and as always if you need some extra support, I'm here

This woman probably started my career. I watched her show every chance I got for years and years. Her candour and non-judgment felt like such a safe haven and I thought she was just the coolest.
Thank you for all your gifts, Sue ❤️ You’ve passed the torch to so many who will keep paying it forward ❤️

She provided candid advice normalising s*x to Canadian and US audiences for decades.

I'm so excited to share with you that this week I completed an advanced training with the Neurodiverse Partners Institute in a modality of couples therapy specifically tailored to the unique needs of relationships where one or more partners are neurodivergent!

This was an incredible process of learning and I'm delighted that I have this new tool to offer as specialized support for current and future clients!

Please have a look at the Neurodiverse Partners offering on my website to learn more, let me know if you have any questions, and of course please share if you hear of someone looking for this type of support!

This is an important reminder and a great visual snapshot to help keep your heart grounded ❤️

Oh, friends ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I’m sitting here in my just-emptied workshop room with an entire heart-full of gratitude and connection. 10 fantastic humans joined me for the afternoon for my Pleasure workshop and I feel… everything ❤️ It has been FOUR YEARS since I’ve done work with a group. I felt awkward and rusty at first, but swiftly back into flow.
Imma just blast my music and soak all of this up for a bit longer. Savouring. Yessss.
(There’s another sitting of this workshop in a few weeks if you’re interested.)
