Connect & Carry was beautiful yesterday. đź’™

No, you will not find us slowing down on sharing just how impactful babywearing can be as a tool for keeping your baby close, supporting connection, and helping families navigate the transition into parenthood.

For clinicians, birth workers, and practitioners who support the parent-baby dyad: if you're curious about the role babywearing can play in your patients' health and wellbeing, we'd love to connect. On June 6th, an awesome group of people are gathering at UBC for HELD - a collaborative event bringing together babywearing educators, healthcare providers, and professionals who care deeply about supporting families. Reach out if you'd like to learn more.

And for the parents: if you're carrier-curious, looking for community, feeling intimidated by your carrier, wondering why your baby doesn't seem to enjoy being worn, or simply wanting to spend time with others who love keeping their babies close—we'd love to see you.

Our next Connect & Carry is June 26th, and we can't wait to welcome you. ✨

Rylie's Birth Story - Part Three: Postpartumđź’™

In the final chapter of her story, Brittany reflects on a postpartum experience that felt profoundly different from her first.

She shares how, looking back, she recognizes that she was experiencing postpartum depression after the birth of her first. What stands out most to her now is that she had many of the things we're told can help. She had support. She had community. She understood the signs. She prioritized movement, nourishment, and caring for herself. And still, you can be affected.

Her story is an important reminder that maternal mental health challenges are not a reflection of how prepared you are or how much you know. Sometimes they happen despite our best efforts.

This time, postpartum has felt healing. Through reflection, support, and the experience of welcoming Rylie, Brittany has found space to grow, and experience motherhood in a new way.

As Maternal Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close, we want to echo Brittany's message: lean into your supports, talk about how you're really doing, and find your flock. Whether you're struggling, thriving, or somewhere in between, you deserve care too.

You were never meant to do this alone.

If this story resonated with you, we encourage you to reach out to Brittany and connect.

Rylie's Birth Story - Part one: Pregnancy 🌊 🌸

In this first chapter, Brittany reflects on her pregnancy with baby Rylie - rom surviving first-trimester nausea to navigating the emotional ups and downs that can come with growing a new life while living life.

We get a sweet glimpse of the moment her son, Jack, tells his dad that he'll be a big brother, and hear Brittany share what it was like preparing for the arrival of her baby girl while wondering if another fast and furious labor might be in her future.

This is a story you don't want to miss đź’™

Join us for pay-what-you-can carrier fit checks with certified babywearing educator, Sarah Burke Dimitrov of Heartkey Babywearing, followed by a short community walk and time to connect with other parents.

Whether you're brand new to babywearing, a seasoned nerd, or just want to get out of the house with supportive company, you’re welcome here.

Friends, I'm feeling gooey! There is so much tenderness woven through Brittany’s story of welcoming her second baby, Rylie, earthside.

From loving on her toddler while preparing for the possibility of a precipitous labour, to trusting herself deeply and knowing exactly what she needed in birth, her story is heartfelt and beautifully honest.

Brittany also reaches out to all the parents preparing to meet their babies with a beautiful reminder: your experience is uniquely your own. There is so much value in community, support, and shared stories, and you don't need to listen to anyone else’s narrative.

We are so honoured to share her words with our community.

See you all next week with this beauty!
