October is a wonderful time to get out, try something new and stay connected with the community! Here are a few activities happening around Greater Victoria this month:

🌿 October 1–28 – Through Their Lens: Older Adults & Mental Health
Visit the Rotunda at the Greater Victoria Public Library to explore a special photo exhibition sharing older adults’ perspectives on climate change and mental health.

🌿 October 7 – Older Adults & Seniors Have A Go Day
Power To Be invites adults 55+ to Prospect Lake for a free drop-in day featuring outdoor activities such as canoeing, a nature walk and more. Shuttle service is also available from Saanich Commonwealth Place.

☕ October 2 & 6 – Free Wellness & Learning Sessions
The Yakimovich Wellness Centre at Hillside Seniors Health Centre is offering free sessions this month, including Android Tablets & Phones on October 2 and Communication and Aging on October 6.

🎭 October 22 – Silver and Sage 55+ Social Group
Enjoy an afternoon of learning and social connection at St. Luke’s Church. The October 22 gathering features “Living in the Altitude – A Peruvian Sojourn.”

Looking for activities throughout the month? Silver Threads Service and Monterey Recreation Centre also offer opportunities for older adults to stay active, social and connected.
