Welcoming our new WOMBmate, Donna ☀️
Hello, my name is Donna, and I am a registered Speech-Language Pathologist with over three decades of experience supporting children and families through my work with a local school board.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of helping children with a wide range of speech, language, and communication needs, including articulation, language development, social communication, and the use of alternative or augmentative communication systems. I have extensive experience working with children and families when literacy challenges arise. I also have a passion for supporting the communication needs of those with neurodivergent profiles, including autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, and other executive functioning disorders.
I understand that navigating speech and language needs can feel stressful for families. It can be difficult to know which strategies to use at home, how to support your child in the community, or how to help them succeed at school. My goal is to walk alongside children and their families on this journey by offering practical, caring, and individualized support, including assessment and therapy.
As a long-time resident of the area, I am proud to call this community home. My husband Hugh and I raised our three children in Chesley, and our family has recently grown to include a wonderful daughter-in-law and a much-loved grandchild.
I am excited to offer speech and language services to local families. I would be honoured to support you and your child as you work toward communication goals that are meaningful in everyday life.
Donna is now accepting clients for Wednesdays & Thursdays in the summer months.
