If you are at a desk for eight to ten hours a day, you are asking a lot of your postural muscles. We see the impact of that desk-heavy lifestyle at our Waterloo and Kitchener clinics every day through chronic tension headaches, tight hip flexors, and repetitive strain.

Pain isn't a requirement of the job. Since it is National Physiotherapy Month, start with a manual reset.

🛠️ The Office Reset
✅ The 20-20-20 Rule: Every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds and stand up.
✅ The 90-90-90 Rule: Check that your elbows, hips, and knees are all at 90-degree angles.
✅ Monitor Height: Set your screen so your eyes are level with the top third.

Your brain is about 75% water. Even mild dehydration can lead to brain fog, slower reaction times, and irritability. If you are feeling "off" at 3:00 PM, your first move should be a glass of water, not necessarily another coffee.

It is Brain Awareness Week, and we want to remind you that your "control center" is incredibly sensitive to the environment you provide. Think of your brain like a high-performance engine. If the coolant is low, the whole system starts to lag. 🧠

Beyond just grabbing a glass of water, here is how you can support your brain health right now:
✨ Feed the Spark: Your brain uses about 20% of your body’s energy. Give it steady fuel with healthy fats and complex carbs.
✨ The 10-Minute Reset: A quick walk increases blood flow to the brain, which acts like a natural "software update" for your focus.
