I've made this avocado chocolate mousse before and glad to see it in the Costco magazine! I promise you can't tell it's made with avocados. We had this as our dessert at our wedding 12 years ago.

SPMs (Specialized Pro-Resolving Mediators) are naturally produced in the body from healthy fats like omega-3s and play a key role in helping the body resolve inflammation — not just suppress it. While inflammation is a normal protective response, chronic unresolved inflammation is now recognized as a root contributor to many modern health conditions, from fatigue and pain to metabolic, cardiovascular, and autoimmune concerns. Supporting the body’s natural resolution pathways may be an important piece of long-term healing and recovery.

Why the Name Changed
The term “polycystic o***y syndrome” has long been criticized for being both misleading and incomplete.

One major issue is that women with the condition do not actually develop ovarian cysts in the traditional medical sense. Instead, ultrasound findings typically show an increased number of immature ovarian follicles, sometimes referred to as excess antral follicles. Calling these “cysts” has created confusion for patients and even some healthcare providers.

The previous name also focused narrowly on the ovaries, despite the fact that the condition commonly involves:

Insulin resistance
Hormonal dysregulation
Metabolic dysfunction
Inflammation
Cardiovascular risk factors
Dermatologic manifestations
Mood and psychological symptoms
As a result, many individuals experienced delayed diagnosis, fragmented care, and stigma surrounding fertility and body image. The new terminology aims to better represent the multisystem nature of the condition and encourage a more comprehensive approach to assessment and treatment.

These proposals risk making naturopathic care less accessible and more expensive for Ontarians (NDs will have to increase their fees) — all without meaningful accountability or improved public safety.

Examples are below (please write in your own words)- contact me if you need more information

Example Email #1 Increase in Fees:

As a patient who values access to naturopathic care, I am concerned that the proposed fee increases will make it harder for NDs to continue offering affordable care in our communities. I believe that before increasing fees, the College should address internal spending and improve transparency around investigations and administration.

Example Email #2 Council Election Changes:

I am concerned about the new election model, which gives the Governance Committee and CEO excessive control over who can run for Council. Patients deserve a regulatory system that is democratic, transparent, and fair — one that ensures all voices, including rural and diverse communities, are heard.
