The Village at University Gates A vibrant community offering both Long-Term Care and Retirement Living, home to over 500 residents.

We proudly share our space beside the Research Institution for Ageing. The Village at University Gates is a long term care home located in Waterloo with a unique partnership with the Research Institute for Aging (RIA), The University of Waterloo, and Conestoga College. We believe in resident centred care with a strong emphasis on the residents needs and desires. Our partnership with research and education helps us to provide the most innovative care to our residents.

Last Thursday, we celebrated the grand opening of our new Bocce Ball Court with a friendly tournament bringing residents and team members together for an afternoon of fun and competition!

Teams of two, made up of a resident and a team member, competed throughout the afternoon while friends and fellow residents came out to watch and cheer them on. There was lots of laughter, friendly competition, and some great bocce ball played!

🏆 Congratulations to our tournament champions, Nance from Long-Term Care and Ben, one of our LTC PAL Coordinators! They worked together to make a winning team and became the first champions on our new court!

Thank you to everyone who participated and came out to support the tournament. We are looking forward to many more games, tournaments, and great memories on our new Bocce Ball Court!

🎪🎉 What an incredible day at University Gates Carnival! 🎉🎪

Yesterday, our residents, families, team members, and volunteers came together for a full day of carnival fun, laughter, and community.

There was something for everyone to enjoy—from testing their skills at the carnival games, watching an amazing juggling performance, enjoying live music in the gazebo, meeting friendly farm animals, and indulging in delicious carnival treats. Residents enjoyed fresh donuts made by our Ruby team, along with popcorn, cotton candy, and snow cones throughout the day.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a success. Whether you volunteered your time, ran a game, served treats, entertained our residents, or simply joined in the fun, your enthusiasm helped create a day filled with smiles and lasting memories.

Each rock is a unique creation, made with creativity and care, to bring a smile to those out for a walk. Whether you're a resident, family member, or team member, we invite you to take a stroll around the village and see how many hidden treasures you can find!

Sunday was a sweet day at University Gates as residents celebrated Ice Cream Day with a delicious afternoon treat!

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! 🍦
To celebrate Seniors Month in June, our residents enjoyed a variety of delicious ice cream treats served on Sunday afternoons. From chocolate lovers' creations to classic ice cream sundaes and banana splits, there was something for everyone to enjoy. Happy Canada Day from The Village at University Gates! 🍁

What a wonderful day of celebrating together!

Residents enjoyed a delicious Canada Day BBQ featuring pork ribs, chicken, and a variety of side salads. Due to the heat, the afternoon festivities moved indoors, where the celebration continued with fantastic live music by Kevin Coates and his son, fun games, cotton candy, and snow cones.

A special thank you to our amazing volunteers from ._.2u for helping make the day even more memorable. We are so grateful for your support and for bringing so many smiles to our residents.
