The migraine reduction actually lasted!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In a 17-month Norwegian trial, 104 migraine patients were split into three groups: real chiropractic care, a convincing “sham” adjustment, and no chiropractic at all while staying on their usual medication.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The chiropractic group went from about 6.5 migraine days a month to under 4, and held steady at 3, 6, and 12 months.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The medication-only group drifted right back to baseline.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The migraines that did happen got shorter too, dropping from about 11.7 hours to 8.1, and less intense, with less reaching for pain relievers.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here’s what surprised people most: patients got 12 sessions over 3 months, then care stopped. A full year later they were still better.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
That points to a real shift in how the nervous system responds!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And no, it wasn’t just placebo. Every group that got hands-on care stayed better, while the medication group didn’t.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Gentle, consistent touch seems to soothe a stressed nervous system on its own.
To be clear, migraine medication helps so many people and this isn’t about replacing it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Lots of sufferers just don’t know there’s a neurological case for why spinal care might help, and roughly 4 in 10 have unmet needs on medication alone.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If someone you love is worn down by migraines, send this their way. 🧡
