Inner Trailheads was built around a simple idea: there isn’t one right way to heal.

People come to therapy with different histories, strengths, relationships, personalities and hopes for what they want to change. It makes sense that the work won’t look the same for everyone.

Our team brings together therapists with different personalities and ways of working. There’s room for practical support with what’s happening right now, as well as deeper work to understand the patterns, experiences and protective responses underneath it.
We’re interested in the whole person, not just the problem that brought you through the door. Your experiences are part of the story, but so are your strengths, your relationships and the life you want to create.

You don’t need to arrive knowing which therapist or approach you need. Tell us what’s going on and what you’re hoping for, and we’ll help you find a place to start.

Many paths to healing. Let’s find yours.

Did you know that your medication might be changing the way your body handles heat?

If you take medication for anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, psychosis, ADHD, or another mental health condition, this is worth knowing.

Some medications can make it harder for your body to cool itself, increase your risk of dehydration, lower your tolerance for heat, or make your skin more sensitive to the sun.

That doesn’t mean you need to avoid summer. It just means it’s important to take a few extra precautions.

As the temperatures climb:
* Drink water regularly—even before you feel thirsty.
* Wear sunscreen and reapply it throughout the day.
* Take breaks in the shade or air conditioning.
* Pay attention to symptoms like dizziness, headache, nausea, unusual fatigue, or confusion.

If you take lithium, staying hydrated is especially important because dehydration can cause lithium levels in your body to rise.

Mental health care isn’t just about remembering to take your medication. It’s also about knowing how to care for yourself while you’re taking it.

Save this post for the next heat wave, and consider sharing it with someone who might not realize their medication can affect how they handle the summer heat.

This post is for general education and isn’t a substitute for medical advice. If you have questions about your medication, speak with your prescriber or pharmacist.

Pride began with people refusing to accept that the world had to stay exactly as it was.

Today, many of us are carrying a sense that something isn’t working. The systems around us are strained. People are exhausted. The problems can feel bigger than any one person can solve.

While we continue to push for larger change, we also have the opportunity to practice the kind of world we want to live in.

A world where people belong and care matters.

This month, we’re reflecting on the idea of imperfect resistance — the small, everyday choices that help create more dignity, compassion, and connection.

There’s a shift happenings more men are reaching out, looking for support, trying to do things differently.
We are growing to ensure there are more spaces where they can speak candidly.

Most men Dave works with say the same thing: “I didn’t think I needed this.”

Therapy doesn’t have to start with a crisis. Sometimes it starts with a quiet feeling that something’s off …. and the courage to say it out loud to someone who won’t judge you for it.

We’re so excited to welcome Dave to the Inner Trailheads team. Dave brings 40+ years of experience supporting individuals, youth, and families through life’s harder seasons. He works with people from all walks of life, with a real passion for supporting men who are ready to do the work.

People often say they feel at ease talking with Dave. That’s exactly the point. Therapy should feel like a place where you can take a breath, say what needs to be said, and start moving forward in a way that fits you.

If you’ve been sitting with something — this might be your sign.
