If you're the one everyone else counts on, this is for you 🫶

You give so much of yourself away every day that by the time you'd actually get a minute to rest, there's nothing left to give it to.

Rest & Restore is one evening, once a month, where the only job you have is to receive for once.

No to-do list, no one needing anything from you. Just space that's yours.

July 23rd at The Village 1883 in Conestogo, Ontario.

Spots are limited, save your seat, and if you know someone who gives everything to everyone else and never takes a moment for themselves, tag them below. They need to see this 🔥❤️

A dysregulated nervous system (one that's stuck in fight-or-flight) makes it really hard to fall asleep or stay asleep.

but poor sleep also dysregulates your nervous system, so it becomes a cycle that just keeps feeding itself 🔁

This is why "just go to bed earlier" doesn't fix it.

You can change the time you get into bed, but if your body is still revved up, it doesn't know how to relax into sleep.

The stress thats causing it hasn't actually been looked at.

Breaking out of this cycle means working on the nervous system itself, not just the sleep schedule.

Things like:
💭 meditation or breathwork before bed
📖 a real wind-down routine (not just scrolling until you're tired)
🚶‍♀️movement during the day
❤️ getting support for what you're carrying mentally and emotionally

Sleep and the nervous system talk to each other constantly. When one suffers, so does the other, but when you start to support one, the other starts to shift too.

If you want to go deeper on this, I wrote a full article on sleep this month on substack ➡️ https://open.substack.com/pub/thehealingsphere/p/why-youre-tired-even-when-you-sleep?r=6dnb9i&utm_medium=ios

Waking up between 1-3am and can't figure out why? 🤔

In Chinese medicine, every organ has a time window when it's most active. The liver's is 1-3am.

If you're consistently waking up in that window, it could be a sign that your liver is working overtime, or struggling to keep up.

This is one of those details I always ask about when someone comes in with symptoms that aren't responding to treatment. It's a small clue that often points to a bigger pattern.

Other signs your liver might be involved:
- Right shoulder or neck pain
- Bloating or sluggish digestion
- Irritability or a short fuse
- Eye strain or dry eyes
- Feeling stuck (physically or emotionally)

The liver does a lot more than most people realize. And when it's restricted, it shows up in surprising places.

Most people are told their symptoms are unrelated.

Right shoulder pain is a shoulder problem. Bloating is a gut problem. Sciatica is a back problem.

So they get treated separately. And they keep coming back because nothing fully resolves.

But in my practice, when I see this combination of symptoms, my first thought isn't the shoulder, the gut, or the back.

It's the liver 👀

Not because something is "wrong" with the liver.

But because a congested, restricted liver creates a ripple effect through the entire body that most practitioners aren't trained to look for.

In this article I break down:
✨Why right shoulder pain often traces back to the liver
✨How liver congestion shows up as bloating and sluggish digestion
✨The fascial connection that links the liver to left-sided sciatica
✨The nervous system, lymph, and emotional layers that make this even more complex

If you've been chasing symptoms without answers, this might be the missing piece 🧩 Full article in my substack ⬇️

A little behind the scenes of one of my monthly Rest & Restore nights ✨

These evenings are designed to give people a space to slow down, regulate their nervous system, receive Reiki, and reconnect back to themselves in a world that constantly asks us to keep pushing.

One of my favourite things is seeing how much the energy in the room shifts by the end of the night ❤️

You can almost feel everyone exhale a little deeper, soften a little more, and leave carrying a little less than when they walked in.

I host these once a month in the Kitchener/Waterloo area.

If your mind and body have been craving rest lately, you can find the upcoming event dates on my page 🫶🏻✨

I've watched people do everything right... eat well, move their body, look after themselves and still develop chronic pain, illness, or disease.

And I've watched others who seem to pay no attention to their health, and they're fine.

So what's actually going on?

In my practice, when someone's body is breaking down despite doing everything "right" on paper, it's never really just about the food or the movement.

When we go deeper, there's always something else.
Something stored.
Something unfelt.

Because unprocessed emotion doesn't disappear. It gets held in the body, the grief you pushed through, the fear you've been sitting in, the feelings you told yourself you didn't have time for. It builds quietly, over years, until the body reaches a point where it just can't hold it anymore.

We ask people how they're eating. How they're moving.

We never ask what they're carrying. We never ask when they last let themselves actually feel something, not fix it, not analyze it, just feel it.

Emotional health is not separate from physical health. It is your health. And it's the piece most of us are completely ignoring.

Save this if it resonated. And if this is something you're navigating, the full article is on my substack.

Swelling, puffiness, and fluid retention are things I see frequently in my clinic.

While these symptoms are common, they're often signals that the body's fluid systems need support 💚

The lymphatic system plays a major role in things like fluid balance, immune function, and detoxification.

But unlike the heart, the lymphatic system relies on things like movement, breathing, and muscle contraction to circulate fluid 🫁

When lymphatic flow slows down, people can start noticing symptoms like:
👀 facial puffiness
👀 headaches
👀 bloating
👀 swollen fingers
👀 heaviness in the body

In this article I break down why swelling happens, the role of the lymphatic system, why symptoms often show up after winter, and how to start supporting your body so that you get rid of swelling, puffiness, and fluid retention 🙌

If your face is puffy in the morning and you frequently have headaches, it may not just be dehydration or lack of sleep.

One of the most overlooked causes is the lymphatic system 💚

The lymphatic system moves waste and fluid through the body, but it doesn't have its own pump. It depends on movement, breathing, and circulation to function well.

When lymphatic flow slows down, people can start noticing things like:
- facial puffiness headaches
- bloating
- swollen fingers
- heaviness in the body

I wrote a deep dive article explaining why these symptoms happen and how you can start supporting your lymphatic system.
