29 years ago today was my first day on the job as a newly-registered Massage Therapist. Every year on this day I remember my classmates and I being told that 60-80% of us would last only three to five years in practice (conveniently, *after* the College we attended had safely deposited our tuition). On this first day of my 30th year in independent business, I'm delighted to be an outlier.

I'm off on a week's holiday, beginning tomorrow (Friday, July 31)! I'll be spending my time reading, playing board games, and trying to teach my friends' dog how to swim. (Related: 1) How does a black lab *not* know how to swim? 2) How, exactly, do you teach a dog to swim?)

I'll be back in the clinic on Monday, August 10th, refreshed and ready to see clients.

This is how the magic happens!

Summer starts next week, and so do my summer hours! I'll be open Monday through Thursday from 9:00 and 6:00, all summer long. (Friday availability will be back in September.) Come on in for a tune-up! 😎☀️

Ugh, ticks are up there in the worst of my nightmares! I'll be doing this when I come in from gardening.

How does manual therapy influence the body beyond muscles and joints? This research article explores how manual therapy may affect the body's physiological communication systems—including neurological, vascular, lymphatic, endocrine, and fluidic networks.

These concepts align closely with the principles of Barral Manual Therapies, particularly Visceral Manipulation® and Neural Manipulation®, which recognize the interconnected relationships between tissues, organs, nerves, fluids, and overall function.

The article offers an intriguing perspective on how gentle, precise touch may support the body's ability to adapt, communicate, and self-regulate.
