💙 Supporting Mental Wellness in Our Community

We’re excited to welcome Deena Benson, Registered Social Worker, to Watrous!

Deena brings 20 years of experience supporting children, youth, and families in the areas of mental health, early intervention, family intervention, and counseling in the areas of addiction, grief, interpersonal violence, and post-traumatic growth.

As someone who has a special connection to Watrous and rural Saskatchewan, Deena understands that accessing mental health services in rural communities can sometimes be challenging. She is looking forward to bringing accessible, compassionate therapy services to Watrous and surrounding communities.

🌿 Deena’s approach to therapy is individualized and creative. When appropriate, she incorporates hands-on expressive approaches such as sand tray therapy and expressive art to help clients explore emotions, experiences, and personal growth in ways that feel comfortable and meaningful.

Sessions will be offered at Rural Speech & Language Services in Watrous.

✨ Meet Our Newest Speech-Language Pathologist – Welcome, Shanna! ✨

We are so excited to welcome Shanna Moren to the Rural Speech & Language Services team! 🎉

Shanna is a Speech-Language Pathologist and the owner of Pediatric Feeding Solutions, where she supports children and families with feeding needs. We are thrilled to have her bring her knowledge, experience, and passion for pediatric feeding to our practice!

Shanna holds a Bachelor of Education and a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology and has been practicing as a Speech-Language Pathologist since 2016. Her experience spans acute care, maternal and neonatal services, pediatric feeding, schools, long-term care, and private practice, giving her a broad and compassionate perspective when supporting clients and families.

Shanna is especially passionate about early intervention and infant feeding, and we're thrilled to share that she is also a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist (CBS)! With Shanna joining our team, we'll soon be expanding our service offerings to include additional infant feeding and breastfeeding support for families. Stay tuned...we can't wait to share more about these new services!

Shanna also has a growing passion for neurodivergence, Gestalt Language Processing, and AAC, and is committed to providing evidence-based, family-centered care.

Her therapy style is calm, supportive, and collaborative. She believes in partnering with families to build practical feeding and communication strategies that fit naturally into everyday life.

When she's not at work, you'll find Shanna spending time with her partner, Garrett, and their two boys. She loves building Lego creations, riding bikes and snowmobiles, camping, boating, baking, and enjoying quiet family days at home. ❤️

We're taking a little summer break! ☀️🌻

Rural Speech & Language Services will be closed for summer holidays and will reopen on Tuesday, July 8.

During this time, emails and phone messages will not be monitored regularly. Jen will return all calls and emails as soon as possible once she's back in the office.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. Wishing everyone a safe, fun, and relaxing start to summer! ☀️💙
