👓 Are you taking the best care of your glasses?
Your eyewear is an investment in your vision, and with a few simple habits, you can keep your glasses looking and performing their best for years to come!
✨Never place your glasses face down.
Setting your lenses directly on a surface is one of the fastest ways to create scratches. Unfortunately, once lenses are scratched, they can’t be repaired—only replaced.
🕶️ If they’re not on your face, they’re in the case.
Keeping your glasses in their case protects them from accidental damage. This also means avoiding wearing them on your head, which can stretch the frame and increase the risk of them falling off and breaking.
🤲 Use both hands when removing your glasses.
Taking your glasses off with one hand may seem harmless, but over time it can twist the frame and widen the temples, causing your glasses to constantly slide down your nose.
🧼 Skip the shirt!
We know it’s tempting, but cleaning your lenses with your shirt can cause tiny scratches. Instead, use a lens-safe cleaner and a clean microfibre cloth. The best to clean your glasses? Rinse them under lukewarm water (never hot), add a drop of mild dish soap, gently clean the lenses and frame, then rinse and dry with a microfibre cloth. This removed oils, dirt and debris that build up around the frames and lenses.
🛏️ Don’t leave your glasses on the couch or bed.
We repair countless frames that have been accidentally sat on. A case is always the safest place when you’re not waering them.
🐶 Keep them away from curious pets.
believe it or not, your glasses absorb your scent, making them surprisingly irresistible to dogs and other fury friends.
🌡️ Avoid extreme heat.
Never leave your glasses in. Hot vehicle or in direct sunlight for extended periods. High temperatures can permanently damage lens coatings. Be mindful of the blast of heat when opening your oven or BBq, sitting too close to a campfires, or placing glasses near a heat source.
A little extra care goes a long way in protecting your eyewear— and your investment.
