Your glutes might appreciate this one 🍑

Grab a lacrosse ball, massage ball, or any firm ball and give this a try!

Place the ball under the muscle, find a comfortable spot, and slowly windshield-wiper your foot side to side.

Want a little more intensity? Bend your knee and repeat.

This combines gentle pressure with movement to help work through areas of muscle tension.

✨ Move slowly
✨ Keep the pressure tolerable
✨ Avoid sharp, shooting, or tingling sensations

You don’t always need fancy equipment for a little self-care.

Save this one for later 🤍

Your body does a lot for you. 🤍

Between long hours at a desk, busy schedules, and everyday stress, neck and shoulder tension can become all too familiar.

Massage is one way to support relaxation, but movement, strength, rest, and body awareness all have a place in caring for yourself.

Self-care doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes the little things matter most.

✨ Save this reminder to make time for your body.

What a beautiful day at The Baby Show Vancouver! 🩷

I had the pleasure of partnering with Bita Gold. F Newborn Company NBC and Bita, whose dedication to supporting growing families is truly wonderful.

From prenatal and postpartum care to lactation support, night nursing, newborn care, and connecting parents with trusted resources, their work makes such a difference during this special season of life.

I was also honoured to join the booth as a special guest for Ask an RMT, sharing my passion for infant massage and the power of nurturing touch.

A special highlight was demonstrating infant massage live with my sweet four-month-old model, who did absolutely amazing! 👶🏼

We talked about how gentle infant massage can support bonding, offer comfort for babies experiencing colic-related fussiness, and help parents feel more confident connecting with their little ones through touch.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, asked questions, and shared in such a meaningful day. And a special thank-you to Bita for this wonderful opportunity! 💕

You’ve fed them, changed them, cuddled them… but they’re still unsettled? 🤍

Those early days with a little one can be beautiful, but also overwhelming, especially when your baby is having a hard time settling.

✨ Have you heard of craniosacral therapy?

Craniosacral therapy is a gentle, hands-on approach using light touch with the intention of encouraging relaxation and easing tension. Sessions are guided by baby’s cues, creating a calm, supportive space for both baby and parent.

Some families explore this approach for unsettled babies or colic, although research hasn’t established it as an effective treatment for colic.

🤍 I’m so excited to be partnering with Bita Gold. F Newborn Company NBC at this Sunday’s expo! We will be at booth 106 in hall B of the Vancouver convention centre.

With her wonderful knowledge of lactation, motherhood, and newborn care, alongside my passion for infant massage and gentle hands-on care, we’re bringing together two approaches to supporting babies and their families.

Come say hello, watch a gentle infant massage demonstration, and ask us your questions!

Because caring for babies means caring for their parents, too. 🤍

🤍 Is it colic… or could it be tension?

The crying, the arching, the clenched little fists, the difficulty settling… sound familiar?

While colic and physical tension can sometimes look similar, they’re not the same thing.

✨ Here’s what parents should know:

Colic describes prolonged, frequent crying without an obvious cause. It’s not always related to digestion.

Physical tension may contribute to discomfort, but crying alone can’t tell us whether tension is the cause.

🌿 Where does infant massage come in?

Gentle massage may help support relaxation, comfort, and connection with your baby.

As an RMT, I love helping parents explore safe, gentle ways to support their little ones through touch.

Every baby is different, and persistent or unusual crying should always be discussed with your healthcare provider.

💚 Save this post for later or share it with a new parent who might need it!

Tiny backs, tiny toes, big feelings. 🤍

Baby massage is about so much more than a back rub. It’s a beautiful opportunity to slow down, connect, and help your little one feel safe and comforted through gentle, nurturing touch.

Always following baby’s cues. ✨

Infant Massage with Shyloh RMT 👶🤍

Your hands are already the best tool your baby has. We’ll show you how to use them.

What gentle, daily touch can support:

• Calm and connection
• Digestive comfort (gas, colic, constipation)
• Settling for sleep
• Body awareness as they grow
• A quiet way to bond

It’s not a spa day for babies.

It’s about slow, simple strokes you learn once and use every day.

(Diaper changes count as practice!)

The baby sets the pace.

Yawning, looking away, fussing? That’s a “not right now.” Try again after a nap.

Respectfully… your neck has some complaints. 👀

Between the screen time, workdays, stress, and everything else life throws at you, your neck and shoulders do a LOT.

And while there’s no single perfect posture (yes, really!), staying in one position for long periods can contribute to discomfort.

The good news? Movement, regular breaks, and individualized massage therapy can all play a role in managing muscle tension.

Your neck doesn’t need perfection. It needs a little variety, movement, and maybe some hands-on care. 🤍

✨ Ready to give those hardworking muscles some attention?

Let’s talk serratus anterior! 🦴✨

This underrated muscle plays a big role in how your shoulder blade moves and stays supported against your rib cage.

Here’s a gentle foam-roller technique to explore the tissues along your side ribs. Keep the pressure comfortable and remember to breathe!

Save this for later and follow Shyloh l Vancouver RMT for more anatomy, movement, and massage therapy education.
