Poor Air Quality? Take Your Workout Indoors 🌫️💪

When air quality is poor due to wildfire smoke or pollution, exercising outdoors can increase the amount of harmful particles you breathe in. Instead, choose indoor activities to help you stay active while protecting your lungs.

Great indoor options include:

* 🚶 Walking on a treadmill
* 🚴 Stationary cycling
* 🧘 Yoga or stretching
* 💪 Strength training
* 🤸 Balance and mobility exercises

Listen to your body. If you notice coughing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, or dizziness, stop exercising and seek medical advice if symptoms persist.

Staying active is important—but so is staying safe. On days with poor air quality, moving your workout indoors is a simple way to care for your health while maintaining your fitness routine.

Avoid Tennis Elbow Before It Starts 🎾💪

Tennis elbow doesn’t just affect tennis players—it can happen to anyone who performs repetitive gripping, lifting, or twisting movements.

Here are a few simple ways to reduce your risk:
✅ Warm up before sports or repetitive activities.
✅ Strengthen your forearm, wrist, and shoulder muscles.
✅ Use proper technique and equipment.
✅ Take regular breaks during repetitive tasks.
✅ Don’t ignore early signs of pain—addressing it early can prevent a longer recovery.

If you’re experiencing pain on the outside of your elbow, our physiotherapists can assess the cause, provide hands-on treatment, and guide you through a personalized exercise program to help you recover and get back to doing what you love.

📅 Book your assessment today and stay ahead of injury!

☀️ Keep Your Cool While Exercising This Summer 💦

Staying active is important, but exercising in the heat can increase your risk of dehydration, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.

Here are a few simple tips to help you stay safe: ✅ Exercise in the water
✅ Exercise early in the morning or later in the evening.
✅ Drink water before, during, and after your workout.
✅ Wear light-coloured, breathable clothing.
✅ Take breaks in the shade or indoors if needed.
✅ Listen to your body—if you feel dizzy, nauseous, or overly fatigued, stop exercising and cool down immediately.

Remember, your workout should leave you feeling energized—not overheated!

If you’re recovering from an injury or looking for safe ways to stay active during the summer, our physiotherapy team is here to help.
