☀️ When Summer Doesn’t Feel Sunny
Summer is often seen as a season of happiness and relaxation—but that isn’t everyone’s experience.
Did you know that some people experience depression during the spring and summer months? While winter depression is more widely recognized, depression can also follow a summer seasonal pattern.
Have you ever noticed a change in your mood during the summer months? Do you find that summer gives you energy—or does it sometimes feel more stressful than expected? Share your experience in the comments. Conversations about mental health help us better understand that there is no single “right” way to experience a season.
You don’t have to “just push through” feeling low, anxious, or disconnected. Understanding what’s happening is the first step toward getting support.

Embracing Authenticity: The Liberation in Accepting Not Everyone Will Approve 🌟

It's a fundamental human need to belong, a drive so deeply ingrained that rejection can feel like a physical threat. This powerful piece from Psychology Today, "The Freedom of Accepting That Not Everyone Accepts You," delves into why this is the case and explores a profound shift in perspective that can lead to true liberation.

The article highlights that the intense desire for approval often stems not just from the individual, but from what their acceptance represents to us—a validation we might have sought in earlier life experiences. Constantly "auditioning" for acceptance can lead to a painful cycle of self-abandonment.

What are your thoughts on navigating the need for belonging while staying true to yourself? Share your reflections below! 👇

You’re not weak for wanting to be chosen; you’re biologically wired for it. But a powerful shift happens when you stop auditioning for approval.

How do you know if therapy is working?
It’s a question many people wonder about—especially when they are putting time, energy, and vulnerability into the process.
Sometimes progress is easy to notice. Maybe anxiety feels more manageable. Maybe your mood has improved. Maybe you’re getting through challenges that once felt impossible.
But therapy is often about more than reducing symptoms.
For many people, the changes that matter most are things like understanding yourself better, having healthier relationships, setting boundaries, feeling more confident, or becoming more connected to the life you want to build.
At Medipsy, we believe that progress looks different for everyone. Your goals, your experiences, and what matters most to you are an important part of defining what successful therapy means.
We wrote more about this in our latest article: “Who Gets to Decide If Therapy Is Working?”

Many caring, thoughtful people quietly carry a heavy pattern: saying yes when they’re overwhelmed, smoothing things over to avoid conflict, or feeling responsible for everyone else’s emotions. Social media calls it peoplepleasing, but underneath that label are real experiences of burnout, resentment, and a slow fading of your own needs.
If this feels familiar, you’re not alone. These patterns often begin early, in relationships where being agreeable felt safer than being honest. And while caring for others is a beautiful strength, it can become exhausting when it’s driven by fear rather than choice.
Therapy can help you understand where these patterns came from, reconnect with your own preferences, and learn to set boundaries that feel both firm and kind. You don’t have to choose between caring for others and caring for yourself. Both can coexist.
If you’d like to explore this more, there is a new article on our website about why peoplepleasing develops, the real costs and benefits, and how therapy can help you build healthier, more balanced relationships.
