Re-posting an informative post for our communities that we are honoured to serve.

Also, while we are touching on funeral processions: please know these can take place day and night in our community. As we gather and honour everyone’s culture and funeral traditions, please know you may see us in procession after office hours. What to look for— a white suv with a purple strobe light and its hazard lights on, as well as a group following behind in their vehicles with their hazard lights on. If you see this, we are likely starting a wake (typically before sundown) so please offer them respect and space as they follow their loved one “home”.

It's that time of year when monuments come to the forefront as it's nearly time for installations to begin. Our staff at Baker Funeral Chapel can help you with planning, designing and ordering a monument for the cemetery.

Did you know that you can get monuments that incorporate the cremated remains in the base rather than being buried in the ground? Perhaps a local country cemetery would allow this as an alternate option to burying the urn.

A petition to increase the Canada Pension Plan (CPP) Death Benefit (which has been frozen at $2,500 since 1998) to $6,400 and restore annual indexation has been filed with the House of Commons.

For over 90 years Baker Funeral Chapel has been located on Main Street and proudly serving Wetaskiwin and our surrounding communities. The staff stemming back all those years helped to develop a foundation of trust and we continue to hold that expectation to the highest standard. We’ve always done our best to excel in service for all the families whom have entered our building.

Today, we celebrate the staff of the past and our current team. We are honoured to have such caring, compassionate, dedicated members of the community as colleagues and team members of Baker Funeral Chapel.

Ruh roh!

Baker Funeral Chapel welcomes a new member to their staff. Daisy’s start date will likely be January 26 or so. We appreciate our communities so much in loving our furry staff members as much as we do, and we beg for your patience, forgiveness and snuggles soon. She has a lot to learn but a lot of love to offer. 💗 🌼
