Creekside Health Squamish, meet your newest family doctor.

Dr. Lukie Smith grew up in Chilliwack, trained at Stellenbosch University in South Africa, worked in emergency medicine in Cape Town, then in urgent care in Dublin, and has now landed in Squamish, with a day a week in Whistler too.

He's passionate about preventative care, dermatological conditions, rheumatology and geriatrics. After four countries of ERs, not much rattles him.

Ask me anything.

Ian MacLeod is a Clinical Counsellor at Creekside, and he works out of both clinics: Squamish and Whistler.

Substance use and addiction. Trauma and attachment. Anxiety and depression. Children, teenagers and their families. And couples who keep having the same argument in a different room.

Swipe through for the things people actually want to ask him and usually don't. Whether what you're doing with alcohol or substances is "bad enough" to bring in. How to talk to a teenager who has decided you're the enemy. Harm reduction versus abstinence, which is a practical question rather than a moral one. What to look for in anyone offering integration or plant medicine support. And how to support someone you love without disappearing into it.

A lot of what people bring him carries shame, and most arrive braced to be judged. You don't have to have reached a particular low point before you're allowed to ask for help.

Trained in the Gottman Method, DBT and CBT, with a Master's in Child and Youth Care from UVic.

Booking at both clinics.

Proof that sometimes the best things really do come in small packages.

We are a little obsessed with this 50 mL size of Dr. Mom Beta Cream. Tiny tub. Mighty little skin saviour.

And apparently, we are not the only ones:

β€œI love that there is now a small size that I can take travelling with me.”

β€œI bought a few of the small ones to put in my purse and one in the car.”

β€œThank you for making a small size for on the go!”

Purse. Car. Carry-on. Bedside table. Basically, Beta Cream wherever dry, itchy skin decides to show up.

50 mL might just be our favourite little size yet.

Available at our Whistler Clinic!

Warren's away this week.

Which, historically, is the only time his book has any breathing room, and even that's mostly gone by next week. πŸ‘€

Manual osteopathy: gentle, hands-on, and stubbornly more interested in why it hurts than just where. Old sports injuries that never fully left. Back and neck pain you've quietly started calling "normal." Headaches nobody can explain. Post-surgery recovery.

"Warren's skilled and gentle hands worked wonders. It was a truly therapeutic experience that left me feeling revitalized."
Melissa P., Google review

If you've been meaning to book with him, this is the window. We'd say sleep on it, but you've been sleeping on it for a year.

Meet Dr. Alastair Todd. πŸ‘‹ (Everyone calls him Ally.)

Ally has just moved to Squamish from Bristol, UK, and if you ask him why, the answer is short: the mountains. He trained at St George's University in London, and starting Monday he's seeing patients in family medicine at our Squamish clinic.

He's full-scope β€” babies, kids and teens, mental health at every age, adults, older adults and complex care. Teen health is a particular interest of his.

Ask him about electronic music, bouldering or sport climbing. He's open to trad if you're willing to teach him. Most likely to be found on Whistler.

He moved here for the same reason you did, which means he understands the injury you're downplaying and the fact you'd rather not lose a Saturday to it.

Welcome to the Sea to Sky, Ally. πŸ’›
