What happens beneath the surface during RF microneedling?

As the microneedles create controlled microchannels in the skin, they deliver radiofrequency energy into the dermis. This controlled heat supports the skin’s natural healing response and may help stimulate the production of collagen and elastin.

As the skin remodels over the following weeks and months, patients may notice:

✔️ Firmer-looking skin
✔️ Improved texture
✔️ Softer fine lines
✔️ Reduced appearance of acne scarring
✔️ Smaller-looking pores

RF microneedling works below the skin’s surface to support gradual renewal, with improvements that may continue to develop for three to six months following treatment.

Call our clinic or visit our booking page to schedule a consultation and learn whether RF microneedling may be an appropriate option for you.

Individual results may vary. A consultation with a qualified medical professional is required to determine appropriate treatment options.

Some of the most common questions we hear in the clinic don't have one-size-fits-all answers.

Questions about aging, injectables, natural-looking enhancements, and treatment timing are all highly individual and depend on factors such as facial anatomy, skin quality, lifestyle, and personal goals.

That's why consultation is such an important part of the process. Rather than focusing on a single treatment, we take a comprehensive approach to understanding the bigger picture and to developing a plan appropriate for each patient.

In this Q&A, Dr. Kennea answers some of the questions she hears most often and shares her perspective on creating thoughtful, personalized treatment plans.

Have a question you'd like answered in a future Q&A? Let us know in the comments.

Ageing doesn’t stop at the jawline. It continues through the neck, décolletage, and even the body.

These areas are often overlooked, but they are just as important when it comes to overall skin quality and maintaining a naturally balanced appearance.

The skin on the neck and chest is thinner, more delicate, and exposed to a significant amount of cumulative sun damage over time. This means we often see earlier signs of crepiness, laxity, and textural change in these areas compared to the face.

Why just treat the face when your neck, chest, and even hands can be in need of attention too?

Depending on the concern, treatment options may include skin-quality-focused technologies, collagen stimulation, or supportive injectable approaches.

The goal is never to treat one area in isolation, but to maintain harmony and consistency across the face, neck, and body.

Call our clinic to book your consultation and learn more about your options.

Can you have laser treatments in the summer?

Many people assume laser treatments need to wait until fall or winter, but that's not always the case.

Certain laser technologies, such as advanced 1064 nm lasers, may be appropriate during the summer months. Using a specific wavelength, this treatment delivers gentle heat into the skin to help stimulate collagen and elastin while supporting overall skin quality.

As collagen remodels over time, patients may notice improvements in skin texture, pore appearance, and overall radiance. Because the treatment is gentle, it can often be incorporated into your skincare routine throughout the summer, provided appropriate sun protection and post-treatment care are followed.

As always, treatment recommendations are based on your skin type, lifestyle, goals, and what is appropriate for you.

Call our clinic to book your consultation and learn whether this technology may be a suitable treatment option for your skin.

Most people notice changes around their eyes before anywhere else on the face.

The skin around the eyes is thinner and more delicate than the rest of the face, which is why concerns such as fine lines, crepey texture, and skin laxity often become noticeable here first.

Advanced thermo-mechanical technology is a treatment option that uses controlled heat delivered into the superficial layers of the skin. Because the treatment is highly precise, it may be appropriate for delicate areas around the eyes where more aggressive resurfacing treatments may not be suitable.

By supporting the skin's natural repair response, this approach may help stimulate collagen and elastin production over time. This process may help improve the appearance of fine lines, skin texture, and overall skin quality around the eye area while supporting a refreshed, natural-looking appearance.

The eye area has traditionally been challenging to treat due to the skin's delicacy. Technologies that deliver energy in a controlled and uniform manner may offer an option for patients seeking support for concerns around the eyes.

As always, treatment recommendations are based on your anatomy, skin quality, goals, and what is appropriate for you.

Call our clinic to book your consultation and learn whether this treatment may be a suitable option for your goals.

Vitamin C is one of the most researched antioxidants in skincare, and it becomes especially important during the summer months.

UV exposure increases oxidative stress in the skin, which can contribute to collagen breakdown, pigmentation concerns, and uneven skin tone over time. As an antioxidant, Vitamin C helps neutralize free radicals generated by sun exposure, providing an additional layer of protection alongside daily sunscreen use.

Not all Vitamin C formulations are designed for the same concerns.

For pigmentation and sun damage, formulations such as Vivier Serum 30, iS Clinical Super Serum Advance+, and Vivier Radiance Serum are designed to help brighten uneven tone, support pigment regulation, and reduce oxidative stress. These products are often considered for patients concerned about sun exposure or pigmentation.

For sensitive skin or skin prone to visible redness, gentler formulations such as iS Clinical Pro-Heal Serum Advance+ can provide antioxidant support, strengthen the skin barrier, and calm visible redness.

For skin quality and age-related concerns, advanced formulations such as Vivier GrenzCine Serum combine Vitamin C with ingredients like growth factors, peptides, and collagen-supporting complexes to promote overall skin health.

The right skincare recommendations always depend on your skin type, concerns, and goals.

Call us or stop by the clinic to learn which Vitamin C product may be the best fit for your skin.

What is advanced radio-frequency microneedling?

This approach combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy to help stimulate collagen production deeper within the skin. By delivering controlled energy beneath the surface, the treatment targets the layers where skin structure and support are formed.

What does it treat?

Radiofrequency microneedling is often considered for concerns such as skin laxity, fine lines, crepey texture, loss of firmness, mild scarring, and overall skin quality.

While commonly used on the face, it can also be used to treat areas including the neck, décolletage, abdomen, arms, and knees.

Treatment is tailored to your skin, concerns, and comfort level. Downtime is typically mild and temporary, with results developing gradually over time as collagen remodels. A series of treatments is often recommended.

To learn whether this treatment may be appropriate for your goals, call our clinic or visit our booking page to schedule a consultation.

Individual results may vary. A consultation with a qualified medical professional is required to determine appropriate treatment options.

At Whistler Medical Aesthetics, there are two types of aesthetic patients that we often focus on.

The first are correction patients.

For example, someone may be quite young but have a naturally hollow under-eye area or limited jawline projection. In these cases, treatment may be used to provide support and help create better facial balance and proportion.

The second group are positive aging patients.

These are patients who want to look like a refreshed version of themselves while still looking age-appropriate. As we age, natural changes in facial structure and volume occur. Treatment planning may focus on areas where these changes become more noticeable, helping to support facial balance while maintaining a natural appearance.

Whether the goal is correction or positive aging, the approach is always individualized. Treatment recommendations are based on facial anatomy, skin quality, goals, and what is appropriate for each patient.

The goal is not to look dramatically different. It is to look refreshed, balanced, and completely like yourself.
