Standing all day should not mean ending your shift with heel pain, arch strain, or sore, sweaty feet but for many workers, which is the daily reality.
After decades in clinic, I can tell you this: most of that pain is preventable. The problem is not your job it is usually the work boots. They are built for protection, not comfort, and not for moisture control.
A few simple changes can make an enormous difference:
• Rotate 2–3 pairs of boots if possible
• Wear moisture wicking or wool socks
• Check your fit by standing on the insole
• Drive in regular shoes and change at the job site
• Watch for early skin or nail changes
• Use orthotics when needed
Your boots protect you from the outside world but it is your job to protect what is inside them.
If you are dealing with heel or arch pain, or recurring moisture issues, we can help you get ahead of it before it becomes a bigger problem.

Have you noticed your toenails getting thicker, harder to cut, or curling inward at the sides?
A very common myth is that a pair of tight shoes worn last week caused the problem. In reality, permanent nail changes take months or years to develop, and the real culprit is often long-term mechanical pressure.
In our latest blog post, we break down the surprising causes behind thick and curved nails, including:
👉 How rotated digits and clawing toes alter nail growth.
👉 Why backless sandals force your toes to "grip," leading to chronic nail pressure.
👉 How routine care, like professional thinning and proper footwear can make you entirely pain-free in just a few months without surgery.
Stop trying to manage painful, curling nails at home with bathroom surgery. Read the full post to find out how conservative care can help, and why getting a professional assessment is your best next step!
