Medicstox OUR JOURNEY:

Medicstox – We make buying scrubs and chefcoats simple! Medicstox is owned by husband and wife team, Abralin and Sharmaine Tiaga. Why?
(686)

MEDICSTOX is Durham's finest uniforms store that carries top-of-the-line exciting, fashionable, high quality brands to help stylish health care workers, chefs, trades and students look professional and at their best at a very affordable price. The idea for this business started through Sharmaine working in the medical industry and wearing scrubs that did not reflect her own style and were of poor quality. Finding good quality scrubs that did not look like pyjamas or worse made her feel frumpy was a chore, either driving into Toronto and beyond or buying them online at premium prices. So Medicstox started in 2007 with humble beginnings, working out of our house and moving into a retail store location in 2011. We are the first exclusive uniform & accessories retail store in Durham Region. Our mission: to be a one-stop shop that carries high quality, stylish, exciting and fashionable brands. We started with the belief that the Uniform Retail sector really needs to stand out locally, to be unique, and the place to go to for uniforms. We wanted to make it easy for our clients to get the uniforms they wanted. We hand select each style and offer curated selections so that client’s individuality is valued. It’s about learning our client’s styles and needs and building great relationships with them! Having uniforms available locally, makes it easy for you to buy online or in store at fair prices. There is a large selection and they are affordable for all. We cater to all industries using uniforms such as health care professionals, chefs, dental/vet clinics, therapists, salons, cleaning services and medical students. We are able to offer you the same or higher-quality products as other big-box brands, but at a much lower prices. Well, we offer exclusive deals and updates to our social media community. Please find us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter and not only you save money but be part of our family. Future Plans

Strengthen our E-commerce platform and social media presence. Expand our product lines to include innovative materials such as materials that contain antimicrobial and fluid barrier technologies. This is ground breaking as there are many concerns about hospital-acquired infections, making the work of the healthcare worker fraught with dangers.

We remain committed to providing comfort, quality, style, and value for healthcare professionals and students.

This wasn’t an easy post to write. The building at 118 John Street, home to our scrub store, is now up for sale.

We bought it because we believed it would make shopping easier for our customers, with parking and space to grow.

But times have changed, and it’s no longer business as usual for many small businesses.

If you know anyone looking for a solid retail or office space in a great location, please share this post.

Ideal as a satellite office or for , , , , , , , , , , , , etc.

We truly appreciate everyone who continues to support local. Especially during the holidays.

A huge thank you to everyone at Lakeridge Health who took the time to check out our prototypes during Interprofessional Healthcare Week!

We came to you with a question: would you support our design? The answer was a powerful "yes," and we were especially honored to get such positive feedback from our military members. We also collected some emails to get people pre-registered for the launch.

Your support means everything. Now, we're focused on the next big step: securing production funding to bring these scrubs to life for you. We can't wait to share more updates soon!
