🌸 PCOS is now known as PMOS —
Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome
Why the name change?
Because this condition affects far more than the ovaries. The term “PMOS” reflects the deeper connection between:
🧠 Brain function
⚡ Metabolism & insulin resistance
🩷 Hormones & endocrine health
😴 Energy, mood, and nervous system regulation
Research is also showing a strong overlap between PMOS + ADHD, especially in women and neurodivergent individuals.
Many people with PMOS experience:
• brain fog
• executive dysfunction
• emotional sensitivity
• overstimulation
• fatigue
• attention difficulties
This isn’t “just a hormone issue.”
It’s a whole-body + whole-brain condition. 🌿
Understanding PMOS through a neurological and metabolic lens helps reduce shame and creates space for more compassionate, informed care.
✨ Have you noticed a connection between your cycle, focus, energy, or ADHD symptoms?
