The Ramayana retold by Krishna Dharma
Summers Big book .
I spent the whole summer with this book as my companion , listening to it while driving around the southern lakes for work, windows down, everything green and bright.
The Ramayana is a great ancient epics of India the story of Prince Rama, his wife Sita, the demon king Ravana, and the long, devotionāfilled journey to bring her home. Itās cosmic, detailed, and full of honour, love, loyalty, and dharma.
As someone who practices yoga, it felt like such a natural extension of yoga. So many of the teachings you can find in a yoga practice devotion, steadiness, right action, compassion, humility. Itās like the philosophical roots of yoga wrapped in an adventure. And Hanuman⦠I absolutely fell in love with him. His devotion, his courage, his sweetness the embodiment of bhakti, and I felt that so deeply.
Listening to it in audio form made the whole thing feel even more immersive. Itās a big story, but every day it felt like a delicious ritual something steady and beautiful to return to. By the time I finished I was sad to let it go .
What an epic tale. It filled my heart all summer, and Iām definitely going to read it again. 10/10 would recommend. Good Vibes .
The second photo is of a beautiful morning meditation spot I had after a camp out with a friend . Dolly my dog snuck into my spot when got up to take a photo.
