Welcome to Episode 1 of ⚡️ Chiro Fast Facts! ⚡️
Over the month of September, we're going to be covering all your questions about chiropractic care.

Today’s topic: The POP! 💥

Did you know the popping sound during an adjustment has nothing to do with your bones?

It’s called a cavitation! It’s simply the release of built-up gas (like nitrogen and carbon dioxide) from the fluid inside your joints when the pressure changes. It’s completely safe, natural, and usually feels amazing. 😌

What chiro myth should we bust next? Drop your questions below! ⬇️

To the active folks in Whitehorse who are hurting and not sure what to do next: we see you. 👋

You don't have to just push through it or sit on the sidelines hoping it settles on its own. Whether it's a nagging injury, a movement that's started to hurt, or something that keeps coming back, there's usually a clear path forward. And figuring out that next step is exactly what we're here for. 💪

If you've been putting it off, this is the nudge. Book your appointment through the link in our bio. 🔗

We really do practice what we preach! 😅 Even when you're strictly non-weight bearing after surgery, there is almost always something you can do to maintain blood flow, keep the rest of your body moving, and set yourself up for a smoother recovery once you're cleared to stand. Here is a sneak peek at how we are keeping moving during the early days of ankle rehab. Have questions about what you can do after an injury? Drop them below! 👇

Ever notice active people seem to catch fewer colds? There's a real reason for that. 👀

Every time you move, your body sends more immune cells into circulation to patrol for threats. Regular exercise also lowers chronic inflammation and keeps your lymphatic system flowing, which helps your body clear out waste and pathogens. The key is consistency at a moderate intensity, since too much training without recovery can work against you.

The research is clear: people who move regularly tend to get sick less and recover faster. Movement isn't just a bonus for your immune health. For a lot of people, it's the foundation of it. 💪

Share this with someone who could use one more reason to keep moving. 📲

If your physio had a "worth the money" list, here's what would be on it. 💡

✅ A quality pillow
One that's fitted to how you sleep and keeps your neck supported. You spend hours on it every night, so it's worth getting right.

✅ A guided return-to-sport program
After any significant injury, having a proper plan to get back safely beats guessing and risking a setback.

✅ An ergonomic workstation setup
A standing desk or a workspace reviewed by a professional pays off when you're sitting at it all day.

✅ A foam roller you actually use
The trick is using it regularly between sessions, not just when something flares up.

✅ A pelvic floor assessment
Booking one before symptoms become a problem is one of the most underrated things you can do for your body.

None of these are flashy, but they're the kind of small investments that pay off over time. 💪

Save this for the next time you're deciding what's worth it.

Ever wonder what your walk reveals about your body? 🚶

The way you walk shows how your whole body is working together. Small things like asymmetries, reduced hip extension, or a trunk shift often show up in your gait long before they turn into pain. And since your body works as a system, a stiff ankle can change how your knee tracks, or a weak glute can shift load into your lower back. Gait assessment connects those dots and catches the compensations early, before they become your next injury.

If you've been dealing with recurring pain, our team includes physios who specialize in gait assessment and can look at the full picture. Book your appointment through the link in our bio. 🔗

Traditional strength work or sport-specific training? Here's how to know which one your body needs right now. 🤔

Traditional exercise builds the foundation. Strength, mobility, and control are the prerequisites every sport-specific movement depends on. Without that base, there's nothing for the sport-specific work to build on.

Sports-specific training then applies that foundation to your sport. It bridges the gap between the gym and the field, training the movements and demands your sport actually asks of you, so your body is ready for what competition throws at it.

The trick is knowing which one you need right now. Early in rehab or training, traditional exercise leads the way. As your capacity builds, sport-specific work ramps up. A good program uses both, deliberately and in the right order, based on where you're at. 💪

Save this as a reminder: the goal isn't picking one; it's using both at the right time.
