Today I received something I never thought I would see years ago — recognition from Okanagan College for achieving the Director’s List in the Trauma-Informed Practice Micro-credential with over a 90% average.

There was a time in my life where people made me believe I was only capable of being “just” one thing. That I should stay in the box they placed me in. But this is your reminder that people do not get to define your limits for you.

You are allowed to grow.
You are allowed to heal.
You are allowed to learn, change careers, chase dreams, and prove yourself wrong in the best possible ways.

No matter where you started, how hard life has been, or how many people doubted you — anything is possible when you keep showing up for yourself.

I’m proud of this achievement, not just for me personally, but because it helps me continue building Rapid Response Training with more knowledge, compassion, and understanding for the people and communities I serve every day. ❤️

What a weekend 🤍

Rapid Response Training had the absolute privilege of providing medic coverage at the Williams Lake Indoor Rodeo, and wow… it was busy, exciting, and such an incredible experience.

I am so proud of this team. These amazing individuals stepping up beside me aren’t just volunteers—they are Advanced First Aid (AFA) students from Rapid Response Training, putting their skills into action in a real, high-energy environment. Watching them grow in confidence and step into these roles reminds me exactly why I do what I do.

We could not have done this weekend without our volunteers. Your dedication, teamwork, and willingness to show up (no matter how long the day got) made all the difference. You showed compassion, professionalism, and heart every step of the way.

To be part of an event like this, supporting our community and keeping everyone safe—it means everything.

Thank you to everyone involved, and especially to my team… you made me so proud this weekend 💪🚑

Some days remind you exactly why you do what you do. ❤️

Today I was given this card from the PSO students after our course, and I honestly had to take a moment to take it all in. Reading their words about learning, gaining confidence, and actually enjoying the process means more than I can explain.

Teaching first aid isn’t just about skills or certificates for me. It’s about helping people feel capable in moments that matter most. If even one person walks away feeling more confident to help someone in an emergency, then every long day, every prep hour, and every mile travelled is worth it.

To these amazing students — thank you for your kind words, your effort, and your willingness to learn. You made the class just as enjoyable for me as I hope it was for you.

Moments like this remind me that I’m exactly where I’m meant to be. 💜

🐾❤️ Special Visitor in Class Today! ❤️🐾

We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming Sadie, a St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog, into our classroom today!

First aid training is about more than just skills — it’s about compassion, connection, and supporting people through stressful moments. Sadie reminded us how powerful calm presence and emotional support can be in both emergency and everyday situations.

Our students loved the visit (and let’s be honest… so did the instructor 😉).

Thank you to St. John Ambulance and sweet Sadie for bringing smiles, comfort, and a little extra heart to our training day. 🐶💕

Tumbler Ridge, our hearts are with you. ❤️
From the Cariboo to the Peace Region, we stand together when our communities need it most.

To the families, first responders, volunteers, and everyone working tirelessly through these challenges — we see you, and we’re holding space for you. Your resilience is unbelievable, and you’re not facing this alone.

Sending strength, safety, and support from all of us here at Rapid Response Training and the Williams Lake/Cariboo community. 💛

Stay safe, look out for one another, and keep supporting your neighbours — that’s what makes our communities so strong.

This past weekend, we hosted two Red Cross youth courses: Stay Safe, which focuses on helping children learn how to stay safe when home alone, and the Red Cross Babysitting Course, where kids and youth build the skills and confidence to responsibly care for younger children.

This was another wonderful partner project with the Chase Literacy Program, and thanks to their support, we were able to offer these opportunities to youth in our community at a subsidized rate.

We look forward to offering more opportunities like this for children, youth, and families in our community in the future.
